Today we’d like to introduce you to Shakita Conklin
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Alafia! I Am Shakita Conklin, Sole Proprietor of Turquoise Majesty Intuitive Wellness. I hold a bachelors in Business Management, masters in Arts and Liberal Studies and my doctoral studies are in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I’ve always had a desire to teach and spent over 7 years teaching higher education faculty how to navigate the grant writing and submission process. While working in a corporate position as a Research Administrator for one of the nations top Cancer Research Institutions I had an epiphany that revealed that I was putting my time and energy into something that ultimately did not fulfill a very creative and empathic aspect of my being. From there, my journey began to birth what is now Turquoise Majesty. During the period of the pandemic when the world wasn’t aware that it was a pandemic, I began providing tarot and oracle readings to close friends. A few months later in April of 2020, I began offering private reading sessions, started a YouTube Channel to provide collective tarot readings, and facilitated a series of guided meditations via Zoom. By July 2022, the businesses product and service offerings expanded to include oils, anointed candles, incense blends, adornments, and an array of other spiritual hygiene essentials as well as sound therapy. In January of 2024, Turquoise Majesty was selected to take part in Our Village United’s Elevate Mississippi Cohort 4 where I made very valuable connections and learned various was to improve business operations.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Although extremely fulfilling, the journey has come with its own unique set of twists and turns. I learned very early in the game that the work I’ve been called to do would require that I maintain a degree of sovereignty that some would not welcome or be use to. It has been challenging to do the work that I do in communities amongst religious martyrs who attempt to impose their beliefs and practices despite living in “the land of the free and the home of the brave”.

I currently offer tarot and oracle readings, dream interpretation, numerology readings, and crystal prescriptions in various delivery formats to include email, live, recorded, and in person sessions. I also host group and individual sound healing meditation sessions. I enjoy setting up as a vendor at various markets and festivals throughout the Mid-South providing services and products for the collective.
Spiritual hygiene is just as imperative to our wellbeing as physical hygiene. I provide tools to assist those looking to cleanse, protect, and fortify themselves energetically through the sacred practice of anointing with oil, purifying with herbal incense blends, and etc. I also sell an array of crystals from amethyst to selenite, and lapis lazuli.
Adorning has always been a love language for me. It has long been a practice amongst the ancestors to creatively express oneself by curating unique adornments. Therefore, I have made it a point to provide bracelets, brooches, necklaces, earrings and etc for the collective to be able to boldly do just that.
How do you think about luck?
It is my belief that things are always working out for my highest good. Therefore, I am always “in luck”. I am always aligned with divine favor and even when an outcome appears to be undesirable, whether in business or personal endeavors, it eventually reveals itself to be fortunate.
