

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Fleming
Hi Greg, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Back in 2008 I approached my mentor, who owned a gym, and said, “People keep asking me to train them, I think I’m meant to do this. I want to learn everything I need to know.”
He recognized my potential, my mentor did more than just offer encouragement. He surprised me by covering the cost of his $600 certification and generously passed on his own expertise, taking me under his wing for a couple of months. I help my first client lose 40lbs and it was history after that.
Fast forward 8 years to 2016. Me, now known as Coach G, had transformed my passion into a reality. I opened the doors of my own gym, BestBody Fitness.
I offer different plans to get anyone started in fitness. You could choose a month-to-month plan, a 6-month plan, a one year plan, or the most popular, the 90-day-SHRED.
“It is our three month program where we set you up with a meal plan,” “Also, we set you up with a customized training plan to help you lose 10 to 20 pounds in the first 90 days.”
I alters each plan to meet the needs of the of each individual . For the meal plan, i send them emails with videos teaching them how to eat and what to eat. For personal training, I see where they’re at for the first week and adjusts the plan accordingly.
“I get so many different people with so many different backgrounds,. “I had people that have never exercised before, people that played hockey, people that played football.”
But my calling isn’t just about training people, it’s about seeing them succeed. I had one client in her early fifties that looked at her drivers license photo and realized how slim her face had gotten. She told me it made her recognize the amount of weight she lost, her new energy, and strength. She could finally do more activities with her grandkids.
“I love seeing people change, and watching their reactions when they see changes.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I open up with a partner and we had different ideas on how we wanted to run the business. I was better prepared at the time and more motivated to succeed at this. Because I was at a job I didn’t like and I knew that this was my passion and I was all in on this journey. My partner was still finding himself but he ending up later on finding what he loves and now I ran the business on my own. It was a struggle getting customers and learning marketing and making sales. My partner was a gifted talker I had to learn my way with that part. I had to get a job doing uber to make ends meet when I decided to go full time at gym. I was working part time and working at a local hospital for 3 years and then I decided to quit and go all in. I started doing uber on my lunch break or between clients. It was rough but I had to pay bills and make it happen.
We’ve been impressed with Bestbody Fitness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We have state of the art equipment and getting new equipment in as we interview. We train 3 days per week MWF 6am-5pm.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Have a back up plan if your business gets shut down for any reason. Learn to improvise and have other business growing from your business. For instance you can have a gym business and an online training business. Always have more than one basket .
