Hi Gokcen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been fascinated by how cultural moments, like technological advancements or social shifts, shape design and influence entire aesthetic movements. This curiosity led me to explore vintage stores, flea markets, and second-hand shops whenever I had the chance. It felt like time travel to me, and over time, I became better at looking at objects and estimating the year they were designed.
From the clean lines of mid-century modern to the bold shapes of the ’70s, every era leaves its mark on product design. When I came across pieces with stories that moved me, I wanted to own them. Over time, I collected so many that sharing them with people who shared the same excitement became a passion of mine.
For me, this is the heart of my work, offering these unique pieces that carry the spirit of their time, while connecting the design to its historical context.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been entirely smooth. The niche nature of vintage design often requires patience and persistence to find the right pieces, and turning my passion into a sustainable venture has presented its own challenges. There’s always a balancing act between curating with care and selecting pieces that people will enjoy.

What I’m most proud of is knowing that my work touches people’s hearts in a positive way. I’ve worked in the fashion industry for years, and while I get a similar sense of fulfillment there, in this business, everything feels more personal. Sometimes, the connection people have with objects is really something special. I often hear emotional stories from people around the world about the memories tied to pieces in my collection. Like, someone might share a story about a wall clock I have, and it’s not just about the clock, it’s about a time in their life, or a loved one, or a place that’s really meaningful to them. It’s amazing how these objects carry so much more than just their history. They hold so many personal stories, and I love getting to discover them.
What matters most to you? Why?
For me, it’s not just about owning something that’s beautiful or nostalgic; it’s also about sustainability. Every time an item finds a new home, its story keeps going, and the cycle starts over. It’s that ongoing story, that connection between the object and its new owner, that gives real meaning to what I do. It’s not just about the object itself— it’s about where it fits into a bigger picture, both personal and historical. That’s where I find my purpose.
