Life & Work with Hank Nightshade And The Midnight Sons of Jonesboro, Arkansas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hank Nightshade And The Midnight Sons

Hi Hank Nightshade, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hank Nightshade and The Midnight Sons aren’t just a band—they’re a battle cry for the soul of rock ‘n’
roll. Hailing from Northeast Arkansas, this powerhouse group channels the raw, unfiltered essence of
working-class rock with songs that cut deep, telling stories of life, loss, recovery, and redemption.
Fronted by Hank Nightshade, alongside the electrifying talents of Robby Rigsbee, Shaun Kirby, and
Micheal Lee Collins, the band is a fiery resurrection of true rock spirit—a beacon for those searching for
something real in an age of manufactured sound.
Their collective pedigree is nothing short of legendary. The members have honed their craft over
decades, coming from acclaimed local bands like Further Down (whose mid-2000s radio hit What You
Say was an undeniable banger), Haven Hill, Delay The Day, Burning Waco, and even playing for Zach
Williams, now a bonafide rock star. Their music has resonated far beyond the stage, finding its way into
hit TV shows like Zoey 101, The Big Bang Theory, and Justified, proving their sound has universal appeal.
Now, for the first time, these seasoned musicians have united under a single banner, driven by one
mission: to remind the world that music—like fine wine—only gets better with time. This isn’t your
stepdad’s garage band. This is a reckoning. Hank Nightshade and The Midnight Sons are here to heal the
wounds left by soulless commercial music and reignite the fire of rock ‘n’ roll.
Their trajectory? The stars. Their limit? Nonexistent.
With three scorching singles—”Drive,” “Run to the End of the World” (complete with an electrifying
music video on YouTube), and the latest release “Devil in My Heart”—they’re proving that real music

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have had our share of bad luck and good luck as well. We have all played in bands that have a lot of promise, but everything fell through. We have played in bands together and separately throughout our lives but have found our way to each other and have formed this amazing band. Life and commitments always get in the way. Jobs, family, and also loss.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Hank was in the military for several years and now is a musician full time. Robby is manager at Engines Inc, Micheal is an insurance manager, Shaun is a Coordinator at an Education Cooperative. We think we are all proud of the steps in life we have taken to get where are. Challenges have made us into the person we can be proud of. The experience helps us to write these good stories to make into songs.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Our families have been our biggest supporters along the way. We have all played with seasoned musicians that have helped pave the way for us, and also all the experience on and off the road over the years. Getting to open for national acts and just seeing how the game works was a big part as well. Recording studios and working with producers that make you do your best.
