Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiara Jasper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara Jasper

Hi Tiara, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey in the beauty industry started at the age of 12 when I first picked up a comb and discovered my passion for braiding. Over the years, what began as a simple skill evolved into a deep love for hairstyling, particularly protective styles like braids.

In 2018, I took my first step into the world of product development by launching Grapevine Oil, an all-natural, organic, multi-purpose oil. My inspiration for creating this product was personal—I’ve always been sensitive to harsh chemicals, and I wanted to develop a solution for people like me who struggle with allergies or scalp sensitivities. Also, when I had my son in 2018 and I noticed he had really bad eczema I knew I didn’t want to use any harsh chemicals on his skin. Grapevine Oil became a staple not just for hair but also for skin and nails, offering nourishment without harmful ingredients.

As I continued working with clients and perfecting my craft, I realized there was a major gap in the market for high-quality styling products tailored specifically for braiders. I wanted to create a line that would make the braiding process smoother, ensuring clean parts, strong hold, hydration, and a polished finish—all while prioritizing hair health. That vision led to the birth of Tiara’s Crown Collection (TCC).

TCC started with a focus on essential braiding products, and it quickly gained recognition for its extra firm Braid Gel and quickly expanded to more products also giving stylists everything they need to create long-lasting, flawless protective styles.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship comes with a lot of ups and downs, and I’ve had my share of struggles along the way. One of the biggest challenges has been navigating product distribution and scaling up while maintaining quality and affordability. When I started Tiaras Crown Collection, I had to learn the ins and outs of manufacturing, pricing, and marketing, all while making sure my products stood out in a competitive beauty industry.

Another struggle was building brand awareness. Getting people to trust and try new products, especially in a market saturated with well-known brands, took persistence. I had to constantly educate customers on why my braid gel, styling foam, and other products were different and better.

Expanding internationally was another unexpected challenge. When my products gained popularity in Africa, especially in Lusaka, Zambia, I had to figure out shipping, pricing, and logistics to meet demand without overextending myself.

Also being a former owner of a salon Called The Blaque Forest— I’ve learned a lot, the hair industry is very demanding and you have to really be prepared and aware of everything while playing a huge role in the industry.

Despite these struggles, every challenge has been a learning experience, and I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything. Each setback has made me stronger and more strategic in how I grow my businesses.
