Today we’d like to introduce you to Lolly Peterson
Hi Lolly , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Fashion started when I was 14, everyone would come to me as their stylist. But my career path was focused on being a psychologist. As I got older I attend southwest for psychology, school just wasn’t worth anymore, for I was only learning the history of psychology. A waste of time for me. So I decided why not be a designer, I love fashion as much as people love me styling them. Years went by and I finally started to pursue the fashion world by teaching myself at the age of 24. I loved sewing just wish I would’ve took classes and had more resources. Fast forward I was 28 and started to pursue sewing seriously, it was my passion. So now I have been designing for 4 years now.. I am a self taught designer, I also took a few classes and am still willing to take more classes to expand my knowledge. How did I reach my level of abundance? It wasn’t an easy road. I’ll say.. I lost my passion and love for fashion at one point, due to the loss of my daughter’s father. He was murder by a old friend from high school when I was 29. It’s been 3 years now since he has transition. Life sent me into depression! But I remember him always saying keep going no matter what. Don’t forget about sewing, even when I would dream about him. After he passed he would give me signs and messages, telling me to keep going and that he’s still here with us.. John have 4 kids plus my son he always claim as his own. We miss very much! He never give up on us or his goals which some he accomplish before transitioning from this world. That alone motivated me to keep living for me, my kids and his kids. Who I love every much!!! This journey made me more spiritual. My spiritual journey started at 27 when I stop believing what I was taught and start looking at what I wasn’t taught and what was hidden all these years. This spiritual journey has been amazing and sad but learning about manifesting, abundance and how your energy channels everything you receives, is amazing. I most definitely put my spiritual journey in my art of fashion. Looking back at my life and how am still taking on different paths. I’ll say I made it through the storms! To be where I am today, expanding my knowledge and career. I want to thank everyone who supports me, including myself, my kids, his kids and my love John, who I take on with me on every spiritual journey and successful paths. Thank you for listening to my journey readers. More is to come!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, no road is very smooth unless it’s given to you. If its given to you how can you learn what failure is. How can you learn how to fall in get back up? My journey struggles are being a single mother of two and still grieving as I walk this path alone, as I pursue my career. But I can say I have turned my pain into art. Also, learning different sizes of people such as what fits and what doesn’t. Learning different techniques of fashion such as patterns, draping and how to sew correctly. But these failures have made me a better designer, am willing to keep receiving challenges.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Am a fashion designer who design for women, men, and children. But my focus is women for now. Being a spiritual designer comes from your journey of healing and unhealed wounds that’s who am known for being a spiritual designer on her healing journey. Am proud of how far I’ve come, the lessons behind being a designer, and what it takes to look at failures as achievements. What makes my art different is I think from my past life and the life I have now. So I place those pieces together in create memories.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I accept challenges I can’t take on sometimes, my art never show it, I am confident in myself.
