Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Woodard
Hi Kendall, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Salad Station all started with a conversation I was having with a client in late 2022. She had just returned from Texas where she visited a similar salad concept. We talked about the need for a quick and healthy option in the Memphis area. The next day there was an ad on FB talking about Salad Station and also an article in the Memphis Business Journal looking for owners in our area. We visited Salad Station HQ the next month were we met the Founders(mom and son) team and decided this would be a great addition to Memphis area with plans to grow multiple locations throughout the mid-south.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Are some days hard, absolutely. Are some days easy- we are getting there! There’s definitely a learning curve with restaurants. Previously I was self employed in the beauty industry so I was confident in my customer service abilities and knew the importance of strong operations in a business. My obstacles came in the execution of operations, Being self employed I was accustom to doing everything myself. With our 1 year anniversary approaching we now have a stable team that I can delegate task and hold people accountable.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Salad Station-Germantown?
Salad Station is a fast-casual gourmet salad bar with over 100 toppings to choose from. We also serve 4 daily soups, baked potatoes and homemade lemonade. We focus on excellent customer service, family+farming atmosphere, fresh local ingredients, and the unique pay by the pound concept. Our guest love the fact that they are paying for exactly what they created with every ingredient on their plate being placed with a purpose.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Meeting my best friend Brandi! When I was 11 my parents relocated from Memphis to a small town in Mississippi. My 1st day at school they called Brandi to show me around Ingomar School. She calmed my nerves and we’ve been best friends ever since!
