Today we’d like to introduce you to Frankiettia Godwin,Ed.S.
Hi Frankiettia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey has been shaped by education, resilience, and a deep passion for empowering others.
I started as a dedicated student, earning a full academic scholarship to Rust College before transferring to Tougaloo College, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. My love for education led me to pursue a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and later an Ed.S. in K-12 Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
For over 18 years, I’ve worked in education—as a teacher, instructional coach, curriculum developer, and consultant—helping students and educators achieve success. My passion for ACT Prep stems from my personal experience watching my late friend, Quetin Groves, qualify for Division I football by improving his ACT score. That moment ignited my drive to support students in achieving their academic goals. At the age of 17, I saw firsthand how important this test was for your future because it changed my friend’s life for the better.
This passion led me to launch Impact Chaser, LLC in March 2019, where I provide ACT/SAT Prep, professional development, speaking engagements, resumes, cover letters and consulting services for schools and students nationwide. I get the chance to share my Quentin’s story. Thankfully, I’ve seen firsthand how access to the right resources and guidance can change lives, and that fuels my work every day.
Beyond education, I’m also balancing multiple roles—supporting my family, preparing to launch a school, and even advocating for myself in real estate to protect my inherited home. Life is full, but I embrace every challenge as a steppingstone to greater impact. I also have a podcast called The Impact Chasin Podcast.
Now, as I step into new opportunities and expanding my business, I remain committed to uplifting communities, helping students secure scholarships, and creating pathways for success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge along the way has shaped me into the woman I am today. I did the Mississippi Alternate Route to Quality Teaching program while teaching in my hometown Greenville, MS working at Coleman Middle School as a Career Discovery teacher and teaching Special Education/English in Byhalia, MS at Byhalia High School. One of the biggest struggles I faced was passing the Praxis exam. I took it over 18 times—each attempt feeling like a setback, but I refused to let it define me. Not passing meant I couldn’t get certified to teach in my home state, and that reality forced me to make a tough decision: relocate to Washington, D.C. and start over.
Leaving everything behind was painful. I had to rebuild my life in a new city, teaching 10th-grade English at a charter school while still carrying the weight of those previous failures. But what felt like a detour ended up being a turning point. In D.C., I poured everything into my students. I refined my teaching methods, pushed them to excel, and focused on evidence-based strategies to improve literacy and critical thinking. The results spoke for themselves—their scores increased significantly, and I saw firsthand the impact of intentional, data-driven instruction.
That experience opened doors I never imagined. I had the opportunity to work with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, gaining exposure to education policy, equity initiatives, and large-scale instructional strategies. From there, I received a promotion as an Instructional Coach, where I trained and supported teachers in refining their craft. It was a full-circle moment—going from someone who struggled to pass a test to someone coaching educators on best practices in the classroom.
Looking back, those failures weren’t really failures—they were lessons, redirections, and opportunities for growth. Washington, D.C., tested me, but it also shaped me. It reinforced my resilience, deepened my expertise, and gave me the confidence to step into leadership roles. Now, as the founder of Impact Chaser, LLC, and The Impact Chasin Podcast, I bring that same perseverance and passion to everything I do—helping students, teachers, and schools transform challenges into steppingstones for success.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My Work & Specialization
I am the Founder and CEO of Impact Chaser, LLC, an educational consulting company dedicated to empowering students, educators, and schools through ACT/SAT Prep, instructional coaching, curriculum development, keynote speaking, and professional development. My mission is to help students discover opportunities through education while equipping teachers and school leaders with the tools they need to drive student success.
I specialize in test preparation, literacy instruction, curriculum design, and instructional leadership. Over the years, I’ve helped countless students increase their ACT scores, securing scholarships and college acceptances that changed the trajectory of their lives. Additionally, I train teachers to improve classroom instruction, classroom culture, and implement data-driven strategies that lead to measurable student achievement gains.
What I’m Known For
I’m known for my relentless passion for student success, high-energy teaching style, and ability to break down complex concepts in a way that makes sense to students. I’m also known for my personal story—how I turned my struggles with standardized testing into a platform to help others. My journey resonates with students who feel discouraged by test scores, and I use my experience to show them that failure is not final.

I am most proud of the impact I’ve made on students and educators. Some of my biggest accomplishments include:
– Helping students increase their ACT scores, leading to full-ride scholarships.
– Developing 180-day bellringer programs for schools to integrate ACT prep into their daily instruction.
– Conducting ACT Bootcamp for hundreds of students at a time, providing them with high-impact strategies in a short amount of time.

– Being the Master Lead Teacher at MLK College Prep High School, where I taught English IV and mentored other educators in instructional best practices.
-Interviewing Patrick “Project Pat” Houston on his impact of changing the narrative through the Go Foundation.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is my lived experience and my unwavering commitment to seeing students and educators succeed. I know what it’s like to struggle on a test and feel like opportunities are slipping away. Because of that, I don’t just teach ACT strategies—I teach resilience, confidence, and a growth mindset. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. My methods are data-driven, culturally responsive, and personalized to meet the needs of each student and educator. I take a holistic approach to education, combining test prep with mentorship, advocacy, and long-term academic planning to ensure students succeed beyond the classroom. I’m an engaging, high-energy speaker and trainer who makes learning fun, accessible, and impactful.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to die empty and leave an impact on this world one student, adult, at a time.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was smart, funny, wise, and clever, the kind of person who could bring people together, and make things happen. I was always inquisitive, never afraid to ask questions or challenge the status quo. My leadership skills showed up early—I was Student Government Association (SGA) President, and I naturally found myself in positions where I could organize, inspire, and uplift those around me**.
Music and performance were a huge part of my life. I played the trumpet and French horn in the Greenville High School Solid Gold Marching Band, and I was also a dancer/majorette in the band. I loved being on the field, the energy, the unity, and the excitement of performing in front of a crowd.
I wasn’t just involved—I excelled. I was crowned Homecoming Queen, recognized as a Greenville Weston High School Hall of Famer (2002-2003), and honored as a Superintendent Scholar. I graduated in the top 10% of my class, ranking #8 overall, and I always took pride in my academics.
Pageants and service also played a big role in shaping me. I was a contestant in the Ms. Jabberwock Pageant, hosted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as well as the Ms. Kappa Pageant. hosted by Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. I loved the opportunity to represent, inspire, and showcase my confidence and talents.
One of the things I’m most proud of is co-founding SWA (Seniors with Attitude) with my friends—a student-led organization that focused on community service, leadership, and stepping. The fact that SWA is still thriving today is a testament to the impact we made as young leaders who wanted to leave a legacy.
Looking back, I was always a leader, a performer, a trailblazer, and a connector. Whether it was in the classroom, on the field, on stage, or in the community, I was fearless in taking up space, making a difference, and lifting others up along the way.
