Today we’d like to introduce you to Rene’e Anderson Fisher
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Greetings my name Is Lucy Renee’ Anderson Fisher. My infatuation with photography started when I was very young with the throw away cameras. I use to always take photos at school and give to my friends and also at church. Growing up I upgraded cameras from throw a way to instant then to digital dslr and now mirrorless. I didn’t pursue photography as a career because of the competitive industry and not feeling confident in my abilities I went the medical route due to already establishing I loved taking care of people. Being a nurse has been very fulfilling but I still loved photography. I worked part time at Sam’s Club in the 1 hour photo department. I loved it from learning how to put photo paper in printer not being able to see like doing it blind, to printing out beautiful photos for customers. I started being asked to take senior pictures and photograph events and other photography needs, which sparked my passion. After pursuing my RN degree and being unsuccessful I decided to step out on fath and push my photography passion for real and so I wanted to see how it would go. In 2016 I started out in the back of a diesel garage in a little small room and it wasn’t the best but I made it my own. 2 years later I moved to a bigger space in a high rise building with other entrepreneurs pursuing their dreams I had my own suite. 2 years later till today I’m in my own studio that I’ve done everything from birthday, headshots, boudoir, anniversary, branding, held events etc. in 2024 I received the Gem award at the Jewel Awards hosted by the Jackson, TN. African American Chamber of Commerce. The day and time we live in with so much uncertainty seeing people smiling and enjoying their photo session is what makes me happy. My motto is #takeapictureitlastlonger. Lasting Impressions By Lucy Photography is just that, turning your photos in memories that leave a lasting impression. I’m thankful my husband Troy Fisher who is also a professional photographer pushes me and builds me up to do my best to continue to be successful.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of my main struggles was finding my own comfort zone and building my confidence when there are so many that do the same thing but everyone has their own style. Learning to be my own self and realizing it’s not a competition.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Professional Photographer.
I specialize in both daily. My passion and love for people.
I’m most proud of never giving up on my dreams and pursuing them regardless of the obstacles and succeeding
Photography is not a hobby nor is it my way to make a living true it helps but I do it even if you’re unable to pay. I gift photo shoots behind the scenes that people don’t know about because everyone can’t afford it. The reward is in giving not always receiving
What are your plans for the future?
I would love to own my own studio one day. I allow other photographers to come in now and rent my studio space and have their sessions but to have a space big enough to accommodate multiple photographers in different rooms is a future goal.
