Hi Desirae, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a 24-year-old entrepreneur, student, licensed cosmetologist, model and influencer, but my journey is rooted in a deep desire for continuous self-improvement. Growing up in a small town like Louisville, Mississippi, I often felt different and out of place. I didn’t see many people who looked or aspired to be like me, and I struggled to envision the person I am today or the aspirations I hold for my future.
From a young age, I have had an intrinsic drive to learn and grow. I believe that each season of my life presents an opportunity to be better than the last. Trusting my intuition has been pivotal; it has led me to embrace a mindset of lifelong learning, not just about the world and others, but most importantly, about myself. I thrive on networking and connecting with others, as I find that everyone has unique experiences and perspectives to share. Listening to others has enriched my life in ways I never imagined.
I am a passionate advocate for mental health awareness. I believe in the importance of seeking help, whether it comes from your village, your pets, or a therapist. Remember, love is everywhere, and it has the power to heal if you remain open to recognizing and receiving it.
Ultimately, my story is about resilience, growth, and the relentless pursuit of becoming the best version of myself. I encourage everyone to get in tune with their true selves and to visualize a world free from outside influences—only then can we truly understand our purpose and potential.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of my biggest challenges has been overcoming self-doubt. For many years, I was my own worst enemy. I engaged in behaviors like people-pleasing, substance abuse, and extreme escapism, which ultimately led to self-sabotage. It wasn’t until I reached a point of exhaustion with the person I was being that I made a conscious decision to shift my perspective. I began to pour love and patience back into myself, giving myself the nurturing I had missed during my formative years. This journey of reparenting and reprogramming myself has been transformative.
As a Pisces, I can be an extremist, but I’ve learned to harness that energy to ask myself meaningful questions: At worst, what can I improve? At best, how can I elevate myself further? This approach has helped me stay focused on my growth and development.

I am owner of Vixenn Stylez which encompasses everything beauty, cosmetics, hair care, and style. I am a beauty protessional in this industry. Ive found that my passion comes from helping people express their true authenticity through their outward appearance. Making what’s on the inside shine outward. Im currently taking clients in Starkville, Ms for everything hair related, and I now offer lip enhancement services such as Hyaluron Pen & Microneedling Filler services.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Likes : mushroom coffee , beaches , the color pink now , shopping , making people smile.
Dislikes : negative people , frogs , chihuahuas , wasps , humid weather
