Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaleel Poole
Hi Jaleel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Chicago, where my journey in ministry and music began at the age of 8, singing in my local church choir. By the time I was 13, I joined The Soul Children of Chicago, which opened incredible doors for me to travel, minister, and even represent America during a time of war, sponsored by Mayor Rahm Emanuel during his tenure in Chicago. Those formative years shaped my passion for both music and ministry.
Fast forward 22 years, I now reside in Memphis, where I aim to make a meaningful impact through ministry serving my local church, Reformation Memphis. I run Key Holders Entertainment LLC, a company dedicated to educating and employing creatives. My journey has been one of faith, purpose, and a commitment to using my gifts to inspire and uplift others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, the journey hasn’t been smooth. Starting out, things were exciting and full of momentum, but as music, ministry, and my passion for business began to merge, I faced my first major hurdle—learning to balance time, passion, and focus. That was an internal challenge, but it taught me invaluable lessons about being effective in every area of my calling.
Then, there are the external challenges life throws at all of us, like the ever-changing dynamics of relationships. I’ve learned so much from the variety of connections I’ve made along the way—some for a season, some for a lifetime.
And beyond that, there are the unexpected and undeniable shifts that God requires. As a man of faith, I believe everything I do is rooted in His grace and purpose. There have been moments when He has led me into places I never planned to go, including my relocation to Memphis. Some of His directions have felt intimidating at first, but each one has stretched me, grown me, and positioned me for greater impact.
We’ve been impressed with Key Holders Entertainment, LLC , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Key Holders Entertainment started with a focus on marketing and communications, but over time, it has grown into something truly special. Today, it serves as a solutions hub for a variety of needs—ranging from songwriter placement and contracting singers and musicians to offering vocal and instrumental lessons. Beyond that, we also help with marketing strategies, business development, product rollouts, event planning, and even virtual branding.
What sets Key Holders apart is our commitment to helping others see their value. That’s actually the inspiration behind the name—Key Holders represents our mission to unlock potential in others. I take great pride in not only providing creative solutions but also creating sustainable work opportunities for creatives such as artists and musicians who often struggle to find consistent contractual work.
If there’s one thing I want readers to take away, it’s this: You can accomplish anything God has placed in your heart. Sometimes, the only thing standing in the way is unlocking the courage to go after it. That’s what we do at Key Holders—help people access what’s already within them and bring their vision to life.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The most important quality to my success has been vision with adaptability. Having a clear vision has always guided me, but being adaptable has allowed me to navigate the unexpected twists that come with music, ministry, and business. Whether it was balancing my passions, embracing new relationships, or stepping into unfamiliar territory—like relocating to Memphis—being willing to shift, learn, and grow has been essential.
