My journey with baking started long before content creation—it’s rooted in my time at L’école Culinare in Memphis, where I graduated in 2014. During culinary school, my husband and I experienced an unimaginable loss—our son, Aiven James. In the midst of that pain, I made a promise that his name would never be forgotten. That promise became my purpose.
Baking became more than just a skill; it was my way of keeping his memory alive. As I navigated life as a wife, mother, and full-time teacher, I started sharing my love for baking through content creation. What began as a passion project evolved into a growing platform where I connect with other moms, share recipes, and create moments that bring warmth and joy to families. My brand, AtHomeWithJastini, is built on the belief that even the smallest kitchen moments can hold deep meaning. Through every cookie, cake, or homemade treat, I honor Aiven’s name and the love that started it all.
And at the heart of it all is “Hey Mama”—a phrase that connects, uplifts, and reminds every mom that she’s seen, valued, and never alone.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Losing our son, Aiven James, in culinary school was the hardest experience of my life. Grief reshaped everything, but baking became my way of healing and honoring his name.
Balancing motherhood, teaching, and content creation hasn’t been easy—there have been moments of exhaustion, self-doubt, and financial struggles. Growing my brand while staying authentic on social media is a constant challenge.
But through it all, my passion for baking and storytelling keeps me going. Remembering why I started gives me the strength to push forward, even when the road isn’t smooth.

I’m a baker and content creator specializing in cheesecakes, cookies, and brownies! Through AtHomeWithJastini, I share my love for baking with a growing community, creating recipes that are both approachable and memorable.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with simplicity—whether it’s a rich, creamy cheesecake, perfectly chewy cookies, or decadent brownies, I make baking feel fun and accessible. My content isn’t just about recipes; it’s about bringing joy to the kitchen and making every bite feel special.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
The biggest risk I’ve taken is believing in myself when no one else did. Stepping into content creation and building a brand around my baking wasn’t easy—there were moments of doubt, financial uncertainty, and the fear of putting myself out there. But I chose to bet on myself, to trust my skills, and to keep going even when success felt far away.
