Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalon Braxton.
Hi Kalon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I always enjoyed photography growing up. I was always enjoyed looking at poster and old pictures and enjoying the different backgrounds and perspectives. In 2018, I decided to buy my first DSLR camera. I spent almost 2 years learning my camera and building confidence before i revealed to the world that i take pictures. I practiced on my Wife. I also used to walk around Downtown Memphis and Shelby Farms just snapping photos and getting better. My first gig that was booked was a Fashion Show that was hosted by an old co-worker. From that shoot on i been getting booked. I open my first studio in March 2020. My current studio that I’m in i opened in 2022. My business is growing day by day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With any business it has its ups and downs. It been some months were I’ll have 1 photoshoot booked. Or it would be sometimes i would have several customers cancel there photoshoots back to back. I just learn to get through it and continue to build

I am a photographer. I specialize in taking portraits. I’m most proud is when my clients are happy with their photos. I think my customer service sets me apart from everyone else.

Making sure my clients are happy is what matters the most to me.
