Rising Stars: Meet Swauvé Tay of Gary, Indiana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Swauvé Tay.

Hi Swauvé, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well, I’ve always been around music my whole life my dad & uncle were the first people to introduce me to the vast world of it. They made music & showed me how to orchestrate any set ups as best as they knew. It wasn’t until I was 12 when I made my first song! Crazy part is my cousin wrote my first verse ever! Shoutout to them because, without that I wouldn’t be who I am today!

From 12 to about 24 I was very inconsistent with my music but have always gotten some good feedback & for some reason I would always ask for constructive criticism. I was dealing with the everyday struggle of growing & coming into my own identity.

Although, I wasn’t constantly writing & growing my skill I would always tend to watch or listen to information to further help my career in all aspects. Even if it wasn’t someone I knew; in public I would always keep a listening ear out. I didn’t realize it but, in the Verge of finding myself in those ten years+ I subconsciously became a sponge absorbing every piece of knowledge I came across. In every aspect not just music. (Life, Environment, Etc.)

Also, I wanna thank all of the amazing people I’ve met in my life so far just adds to it; music is such a great thing when used in unison.
And I can’t wait to share every collaboration & music piece I have in store I feel it’s something that will help shape the culture for years to come.

Honestly, that’s what makes my music speak volume; I noticed I have a special way of delivering the way I feel/vent to the beat & overtime I noticed people can relate & use the music for healing just as I’m doing.

Not only does music give me peace & clarity from venting it’s been able to aid people overall with certain things their battling silently so I’m so I’m forever Grateful because it’s not just for me but I can cater to my needs & still help others significantly by being & healing myself wholeheartedly.

Although, there were a ton of positives; losses & lessons ultimately shaped the path as well. Giving me wisdom to persevere through future challenges & I’m forever expressing my Gratitude for everything. Even though I’m at the beginning of my career I feel I’m prepared for the long haul. I used to wake up thinking I left my music behind but I realized I was developing furthermore to be able to share my experience with the world to aid others.

Gratitude for taking the time to read my story I’m truly grateful I wish you the best in your endeavors & remember the sky is not the limit we have a whole multiverse so why not set your own expectations! You only go as far as you go remember that.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but I’m extremely grateful nonetheless. I could have ended up a lot of places from horrible decisions but, I’m growing daily and focusing on the things that’s going to improve my health, wealth, knowledge, & wisdom.

My mom always told me never cry over spilled milk just clean it up. (Boy did she have some analogies you couldn’t imagine lol.)
I’ve been trying to live my whole life like that and honestly some things are harder than others but that saying stayed in the back of my mind since the first time I heard it (I believe I was 6 & I just had broken my favorite Dragonball Z toy lol)
Who knew I’d go on to use it for life’s trials and tribulations. So Thank You Mom for doing the best you could in a circumstances we had I Love You.

So to sum it up no it hasn’t been easy but I wouldn’t change it because the only thing that forms diamonds are pressure.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I classify myself as A Versatile Musical Artist.

I say this because, no two songs I’ve made sound the same. And I’ve made plenty to make this claim. I learned I have a nac for letting the beat form my words for a song; what I mean is whatever I hear from the beat the words automatically flow in because whenever I’m rapping I’m venting what I actually know or feel so it makes it more authentic and ties together naturally. Sounds crazy but that’s literally the process.

Honestly, I’m not really known for my music yet a lot of people know I do music but I’m mostly known for my kindness & Courage to stand on what I speak without disrespecting people. People I know tell me I’m funny but I naturally speak what’s on my mind all the time literally. Plus I used to play a lot of basketball in my younger days so yeah there’s that.

What I’m most proud of is all of the knowledge and wisdom I’ve been able to acquire at my young age and my willingness to adapt to any situation I’ve been put in. Rather if it’s a life or death situation I’m grateful I’ve always been able to think and react the best way for myself, family, and peers whenever it was a trying situation.

A few things that sets me apart from others is that I’m authentic in every way from my name to the way I talk walk and present myself.

I have an extreme willingness to adapt to whatever and whatever setting it’s crazy but ultimately I believe it’s a gift.

Another thing is that I always listen from all perspectives to better understand any conversation or circumstance. I feel that is one of the most important things that has kept me alive.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I feel that having empathy, patience, consistency, discipline, and the ability to receive constructive criticism is definitely the fuel to my success.

Without those words I wouldn’t be where I am today for sure without a doubt.
