Meet Mystro Pope of Memphis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mystro Pope.

Hi Mystro, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I go by the artist name Mystro Pope . I started a record label call Stick ‘Em Up Entertainment in the early 2000’s and I started off by making beats and later started rapping. I got to where I am now by putting in hard work and marketing myself. I collaborated with Tha Truma Center Killaz and later branched off to continue my music career. I dealt with a lot of problems including jail and other life problems, but I continued to stay positive and move forward with my life. I recently completed school and enrolled in college to show people you don’t have to continue to be in the streets sometimes you have to make a change yourself.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road . Some of the struggles along the way were running out of money, dealing with people that wasn’t taking it as serious as me, and other life problems. Some challenges changed me as a person and made me a lot better as a person as well.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a rapper and I specialize in writing music. I’m mostly proud of my accomplishments so far. I’m currently signed to Stick ‘Em Up Entertainment, LLC, Theveland Records, and Empire Records Distribution.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Bickford community center days.Playing in the park and I also have bad memories including losing my older sister Veronica Pope at a young age.
