Check Out Joshua Nichols’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Nichols.

Hi Joshua, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Haus of JONI originally called JONI Styles during my early college days as a fashion merchandising student at the University of Memphis. My love for fashion was born in the church, where I often found myself challenging the traditional image of the “typical church kid.” I wanted to bring edge, creativity, and boldness to my faith through style.

Haus of JONI represents the intersection of unorthodox style and timeless class designed to leave a lasting impression. I don’t call myself a stylist or creative director; I consider myself an Impressionist because my mission is simple: to leave every client and audience undeniably impressed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road but I believe the bumps along the way shaped both me and the brand. In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was confidence learning to trust my voice and vision in an industry that often tries to box creatives in. As someone who didn’t always fit the traditional fashion mold, I had to constantly prove that there was value in doing things differently.

There were also practical struggles balancing school, work, and building a brand from scratch with limited resources. I had to get creative not just in design, but in how I presented myself, built relationships, and brought my ideas to life with what I had.

But through all of it, I stayed rooted in purpose. Every setback reminded me why I started Haus of JONI in the first place: to create a space where edge, elegance, and authenticity could live together and to leave an impression that lasts.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I (we) kind of do ALOT and we do it with intention! I wear many creative hats: I style, I direct, I design from time to time, I train models, and I plan fashion shows from concept to runway. What sets us apart is our ability to bring a full vision to life, not just a single element of it.

Haus of Joni is a full creative firm that thrives at the intersection of fashion, art, and culture. We’re not just about aesthetics we build experiences. Whether it’s curating a look, producing a show, or mentoring the next generation of models, we approach every project with originality and a deep respect for storytelling.

I’m most proud of the impact we’ve made through versatility our ability to shape every layer of a creative project and still keep the vision cohesive and bold. We don’t just follow trends we set them, refine them, and deliver them with soul.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is if my Heavenly Father is pleased with the work of my hands led by him

It’s when my vision, my work, and my purpose all meet in the same space. Success isn’t just about recognition or milestones it’s about creating work that speaks truth, moves people, and opens doors for others.

It’s when a model I’ve trained walks with confidence for the first time. It’s when a fashion show I’ve directed leaves people inspired. It’s when a look I’ve styled tells a whole story without a single word.

Success is freedom the freedom to create without limits, to lead with authenticity, and to build a legacy that’s both beautiful and meaningful.
