Check Out Alexandra Fresquez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Fresquez.

Hi Alexandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up singing in my church choir in Roswell NM, and music has always been an outlet. I originally moved to Los Angeles because I was planning to get married, but when that relationship ended, it completely shifted my path. I actually grew up really shy, but one of my close friends pushed me to pursue my own music, and that moment changed everything for me.

Since then, I’ve released music that’s gained millions of views on YouTube, earned placements on shows like MTV’s Ex On The Beach, Ghosted, and Skymed, and brought me recognition such as being named Female Vocalist of the Year by the New Mexico Hip Hop Awards and receiving two Hollywood Music in Media Award nominations.

I’ve been blessed to perform at festivals, at a WNBA halftime show, and even internationally—experiences that reminded me how powerful and how we can all connect through music. I’m now also channeling that passion into starting a nonprofit to provide kids with music resources and workshops, because I know firsthand how life-changing it can be to have music as an outlet.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s definitely been ups and downs. It’s a hard path to take but I have faith that it’ll take me where it’s supposed to, if I keep putting in all the effort I can, and doing it because I love it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer who creates pop music rooted in empowerment and emotional honesty. I’m also a nurse on the side. I specialize in making songs that feel both vulnerable and uplifting—music people can connect to on a personal level but also celebrate and feel powerful through.

What I’m most proud of is the way my music has touched people’s lives and given them hope in their own stories. What sets me apart is that I don’t just create music for myself—I see it as a tool for connection and purpose. That’s why I’m now starting working to help others on their journey . I know firsthand how music can change a life, and I want to make sure the next generation has that same chance.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising is that I’m actually really shy. Most people see me performing on stage or watch my videos and assume I’ve always been confident and outgoing, but it took a lot for me to step into that place. That part of my story keeps me grounded and reminds me to encourage others who might not see their own potential yet. I also have a twin sister who does country music 🙂
