Today we’d like to introduce you to Khloe Jones.
Hi Khloe, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always loved bringing ideas to life, and that passion has shaped me from childhood to where I am today. Whether it was baking, acting, singing, music, or any kind of craft — if I could imagine it, I would try it. That drive led me to my first time on stage in 3rd grade, when I volunteered during a play at the University of Mississippi. That moment lit a spark in me, and I carried it with me through years of singing, playing saxophone from 5th grade onward, and finding new ways to express myself.
Eventually, I began singing in church, which gave me both confidence and a deeper love for using my voice. Later, during undergrad, I also sang with the University of Mississippi’s gospel choir, which was another meaningful chapter in my musical journey.
At the same time, baking became another outlet. I grew up watching my mother and grandmother in the kitchen, and then began experimenting with recipe cards on my own. By middle school, I was baking cupcakes to share with classmates, and by high school, I was selling Valentine’s Day treats. For a long time, I didn’t see myself as a business owner, but that changed when I joined the summer McLean Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Ole Miss during my sophomore year of high school. That program gave me the confidence to see my talents as something more than just a hobby.
In 2021, I officially launched The Sweetener Company, LLC. What began as cupcakes for classmates grew into catering corporate events, baby showers, weddings, and pop-up shops. I competed in business pitch competitions, became a Grisham-McLean Institute Scholar, and even spoke at the Mississippi Entrepreneurship Forum about my journey. Those experiences taught me discipline, resilience, and how to take pride in presenting my work to the world.
Now, it’s refreshing to be pouring that same drive into my childhood passions of performing and storytelling. That’s also how Khloelle came into fruition. I wanted a name that truly reflected the artistic side of me, separate from just being Khloe the student or entrepreneur. Khloelle represents the performer, the storyteller, and the dreamer in me. The part of me that has always loved being on stage, creating, expressing myself, and connecting with people.
I’ve been training through acting classes in Memphis and recently celebrated my first job as an extra on a TV show. I also share skits and comedic content on TikTok, which lets me connect with people in a fun, authentic way. Looking back, I see how every step, from baking to business to the arts, has been linked by my love of expression and my desire to make people feel something special.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Life has a way of throwing curveballs, and there have been times when self-doubt made me question my path. Balancing everything has been one of my biggest challenges. Between school, personal responsibilities, working full-time, and now nursing school, my plate often feels full. There were seasons when it was hard to make time for my creative side while also keeping up with education and commitments.
But I’ve learned that making space for my passions is just as important as taking care of business. I’m finding balance and making time for artistry and self-care even when life feels overwhelming. Those challenges have taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of moving forward even when the path isn’t easy.
One scripture I hold close is Proverbs 18:16: “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” It reminds me that the talents God gave me aren’t in vain, and they will open doors in due time, as long as I stay faithful and keep putting in work.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Just about anything I set my mind to, I try my best to make it happen. Over the years, I’ve been called a Jack of All Trades because of the many careers and hobbies I’ve pursued — so much that my friends even nicknamed me Barbie.
I’m a baker and small business owner specializing in cakes, cupcakes, and chocolate covered treats, an artist, and a student.
What sets me apart is the way I approach my work as both an outlet and a genuine source of joy for myself and others, and the variety of it. Whether through baking, performing, or storytelling, for me, it’s about the experience people take away from it more than the finished product. A dessert that makes someone’s day brighter, a skit that makes them laugh, or a performance that makes them reflect, those moments are what drive me.
I’m also proud that my journey reflects both artistry and entrepreneurship. Launching The Sweetener Company taught me how to build a brand, stay disciplined, and present my work with excellence. Now, as Khloelle, I bring that same foundation into the arts, blending the structure of business with the heart of expression. My work comes from a place of authenticity; it’s something that has brought me peace, inspiration, and fulfillment throughout every season of life.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe the arts and entertainment industry is becoming more accessible than ever. With social media and digital platforms, creators no longer have to wait for traditional gatekeepers; they can build their own audiences and opportunities. Over the next 5–10 years, I see even more overlap between online content and traditional film, TV, and music. People are craving authenticity, and I believe the industry is heading toward real voices and real stories, which makes this an exciting time to be doing what I do.
