Hi Boba, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Boba Society was created as a safe space for our community to come in and try something new without the pressure of feeling judged. It’s the kind of place where everyone will want to come and enjoy. Whether it’s a hangout with some friends, a reunion with the ones you haven’t seen in ages, or just a nice place to study, there’s a place for everyone. Boba Society first opened in July 2022 in the heart of the Lake District in Lakeland, TN, right off exit 19 on I-40! Our second location opened shortly after in the East Memphis area, just 5 minutes from the U of M campus.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest struggles we’ve had was establishing ourselves in the competitive area, but we are proud to say we are one of the major boba shops in the Memphis area!

At Boba Society, craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do. Our drinks are thoughtfully handcrafted to highlight bold, diverse flavors and satisfying textures—always made with real, high-quality ingredients. We’ve brought together the best of teas, smoothies, small bites, and more to create a menu of signature recipes you won’t find anywhere else.
Quality is our priority. Every ingredient is carefully chosen to make sure it is the perfect flavor for our customers, including our Pure Japanese Matcha, hand whisked to each order or our imported tea leaves steeped fresh every 4 hours. Every recipe is developed in-house—from our creamers and slow-dripped Vietnamese-style coffees to the sauces that pair perfectly with favorites like our Hot Cheeto Korean Corndog. Each creation is uniquely ours and impossible to replicate.
Known for our made-to-order freshness and our friendly, educational atmosphere, we’ve become a destination for both new boba drinkers and longtime fans. And as one of the first boba shops in Memphis to offer catering services, we make it easy to enjoy Boba Society wherever you go.
