Today we’d like to introduce you to Richerra Bell.
Hi Richerra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Richerra Bell known as Richie. I’ve always been a lover of creativity and arts so I dabbled in many sectors of that growing up. My journey into the projects I do now started several years ago while in church. I was apart of some great Theatre productions under the teaching of my then pastor, Dwayne Hunt. Fast forward to 2021 my maternal grandmother and mother passed away 6 months apart, at the time I was my mothers caregiver for over 10years battling colon cancer & becoming a new mom. This sent me into a spiral I was searching for an outlet while understanding who God was in all of this. A year after that in 2023 an acquaintance from my teen years reached out to me about modeling, this was something so many people would encourage me to do but I was so reserved and bashful I never pursued it fully on top of my already big responsibilities. I dived head first into it and fell completely in my element & one day I got called for an opportunity to be in an independent film now at first I was hesitant but ended up taking the offer. From that day forward it’s been like home I mean I’d already had somewhat of a background coming from theatre so I fit right in and now I’m doing what I love. My mom would be so proud she was my stage partner.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say everything that’s new can take time to adjust to and learn the ropes but for the most part my steps have been ordered so there are no complaints on my end. If there are I feel they’ll eventually be smoothed out with wisdom and direction.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As I mentioned before I am an indi film actress with many titles being added. On top of me being and actress I am a content creator, wardrobe manager for Ripp Entertainment films, theatre, and a couple new creative titles that I plan on adding to my resume including set makeup artist(graphic) & musical artist. I would say I’m most proud about how far I’ve come in the film industry with a decent body of work in just under 2 years. I would say my spiritual foundation in Jesus and always willing to take direction.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
I would say for anyone just starting out remember your why that’s what is going to carry you and direction from THE SOURCE. Don’t be afraid to be an extra and network.
I wish I knew that you don’t have to take every role that is presented to you especially if it doesn’t align it’s ok to wait for the next opportunity.
