Daily Inspiration: Meet JORDAN RED

Today we’d like to introduce you to JORDAN RED.

Hi JORDAN, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, and my passion for creating started early—I loved designing characters in video games and knew from a young age that I wanted to ‘create’ in some way as I got older. My professional journey began working for my brother’s company, Red Squared, doing graphic design and video work, where I learned a lot about entrepreneurship and building something from the ground up.

Eventually, I moved to Memphis to be with my wife, and that’s when new opportunities opened up. I worked at the University of Memphis, where I managed a full-blown studio and expanded my skills in video production and creative content. Around that time, I connected with Greg Selby, who runs a marketing firm called The Profit Link, and I became their Creative Director.

Now, I’ve started a subsidiary called The Red Collective—a collective of creatives here in Memphis who collaborate to tackle projects and create content for local companies. Since I’ve been here in Memphis, I’ve had contracts and the opportunity to work with organizations like Tops Bar-B-Q and the Kosten Foundation, which are connected through another marketing group I’m contracted with to create content here in Memphis. I’ve also worked with organizations like New Direction Christian Church and many other companies across the city. It’s been an exciting way to combine my passion for storytelling and creativity with helping brands communicate their vision in meaningful ways.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I’ve seen is that a lot of creatives try to compete with each other, rather than realizing the impact we can have when we collaborate. Early on, I learned that there’s so much more we can accomplish together—pooling skills, ideas, and resources rather than trying to go at it alone. Building The Red Collective has been a big part of overcoming that, creating a space where creatives in Memphis can work together to take on bigger projects and deliver stronger, more meaningful content for companies.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m all about making meaningful content. My work focuses on creativity and storytelling, and I specialize in video production and digital marketing, helping brands and organizations bring their ideas to life in ways that are engaging and impactful. I’m known for blending creativity with strategy to produce content that really connects with people.

What I’m most proud of is not only mentoring other creatives and helping them grow their skills. I remember hearing Charlamagne Tha God say, ‘If what you’re building only benefits you, it’s not big enough,’ and that really stuck with me. It’s a principle I try to live by, making sure the work I do can lift others while also building something meaningful. Creating avenues and ventures within my business that can support others—whether through paid opportunities, collaboration, or professional growth. What sets me apart is that I live by the ‘assist to score’ mindset—something Magic Johnson exemplified as a leader. I’d rather assist than score, helping others succeed and shine, because true leadership is about lifting up the people around you.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is spending time with my wife, Daria, who’s currently pregnant and is also a creative. I love when we can share the creative experiences we’ve had, reflecting on what we’ve worked on or learned. It’s inspiring and energizing to connect with someone I love through our shared passion for creativity, especially as we prepare for this next chapter in our lives.
