Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has not been easy but it has been purposeful.

I became a single mother at 21 years old while I was a sophomore in college at Alcorn State University. At a time when most students were focused on campus life and discovering themselves, I was balancing motherhood, academics, and the weight of responsibility. I had to move back home to Cleveland, MS back to the Mississippi Delta where I am from. There were moments when the pressure felt overwhelming. I was raising my son with barely any steady income coming in, trying to figure out how to survive while still holding onto my ambition.

As I began stepping into business and consulting, the challenges didn’t stop. I lost contracts. I was rejected by numerous companies and even churches sometimes not because I lacked ability, but because my knowledge, strategy, and vision exceeded what they were comfortable with. Being young, confident, and skilled in rooms that weren’t ready for it came with a cost.

There were seasons of financial strain. Seasons of doubt. Seasons where I questioned whether I should shrink myself to fit into spaces that didn’t value what I carried.

But in one of my lowest seasons, I had a revelation: If I could pour this much excellence, strategy, and dedication into building someone else’s vision and dream, then I could certainly pour it into my own.

That shift changed everything.

Instead of waiting for validation, I started believing in myself. Instead of chasing rooms that rejected me, I built my own table. Instead of allowing setbacks to define me, I let them develop me.

Becoming a single mother didn’t break me it built me. Rejection didn’t stop me it sharpened me. Financial hardship didn’t disqualify me it fueled me.

Today, every system I build, every business I help structure, and every entrepreneur I empower is rooted in lived experience. I understand resilience because I’ve lived it. I understand pressure because I’ve carried it. And I understand faith because I’ve had to walk by it.

My story is proof that your beginning does not determine your ceiling. When you decide to believe in yourself, even in the middle of struggle, you step into a different level of power.
