Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaleisha Walker.
Hi Kaleisha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kaleisha Walker. I am a humble and an unapologetic Christian who is originally from Cape Girardeau, MO, but I moved to the Nashville, TV area Oct. 16, 2021.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in public relations & fashion merchandising from Southeast Missouri State University May 14, 2011. When I graduated from college, which I was a first-generation college graduate, thankfully, I landed a job related to my field at a local marketing firm a year after graduation. Throughout my professional career, I’ve worked at marketing agencies, radio stations, as well as a restoration company, then I transitioned to the entertainment industry full time in Feb. 2024.
Currently, I am the casting director, producer, and director of production for a Nashville-based vertical drama production company called HelloDrama. I am also an actress.
I got into the vertical space industry two years ago. I started off acting in some of HelloDrama’s productions. After acting in a handful of their projects, the owner of the company, Max Fata, personally reached out to me to see if I was interested in working in the entertainment industry. Unbeknownst to him, working full time in the entertainment industry had been a lifelong dream and heartfelt prayer request. I officially joined the HelloDrama team full time on Feb. 15, 2024. And as they say, the rest is history.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not necessarily been a smooth road. But I feel if it had been a smooth road, it would not have led me to where I am today. The rough roads are what grow you, shape you, strengthen you, help you, and allow you to be the best version of yourself. As the adage goes, nothing worth having comes easy.
Some struggles along the way have been depression, doubting myself and worth, not knowing how I would make ends meet when God told me to walk away from a former job (without having another job in the pipeline), and the list goes on. But God’s divine love, faithfulness, favor, grace and mercy got me through those struggles and made me the strong, unapologetic Christian woman I am today.
People see the victories and glory, but they don’t know the silent battles you endured to get to where you are or your real story.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a casting director, producer, and director of production for a Nashville-based vertical drama production company called HelloDrama. I am also an actress. I book all of our crew, cast all of our talent for our vertical dramas/microdramas, as well as coordinate, spearhead and manage all of our productions.
HelloDrama is a mobile app where one-minute episodes tell binge-worthy stories. We are a proud local company known for our microdramas focused on dramas, thrillers, rom-coms, and more. Although vertical dramas are a rather new phenomenon in the Nashville, TN market, HelloDrama has been filming, producing and publishing vertical dramas for nearly two years now. Microdramas have been booming globally for years; the vertical space is continuing to explode with popularity locally, regionally, nationally, etc.
There are a myriad things I am humbly proud of that we’ve accomplished at HelloDrama, such as the caliber of cast and crew I’ve had the honor to meet and work with, my professional and personal development, how I’ve been able to minister to souls and pray for them, the systems and databases I’ve created/built/established, quality leads I’ve generated, and more. One of the things I believe I’m most proud of is the amazing growth and success we’ve experienced in just a few short years. It’s attributed to an amazing team, and, most importantly, to God. Teamwork always makes the dream work. I’m truly looking forward to our continued success, scalable growth, and working with even more phenomenal cast and crew in the future.
Also, I’m humbly proud that my dream/heartfelt prayer of working in the entertainment industry full time finally came true – thanks to Max Fata. I suppressed my dream for decades because I thought it would never come true. But God.
Lastly, I am humbly proud that I started my own production company (K-Walk Film Production Services) on May 06, 2025. I offer services such as casting, producing, acting, and more.

Aside from striving to continue to grow, succeed, help exceed our company’s goals, etc., some things that matter most to me as it pertains to my career at HelloDrama is that I played an instrumental role in someone’s dreams coming true, in bringing joy to them, in ministering to souls and being a blessing to them, and more. All of that is so rewarding and fulfilling to me; it blesses me and fills my heart and soul. This is important to me because this is one of God’s will for my life, and I want to ensure I fulfill it and use up all the gifts and talents He has bestowed upon me. Besides, some of the reasons God placed us here on this earth is to serve, to help, to be a blessing, and to love others.
