Hi Alisha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Memphis, my journey began with a defining moment in high school. Our choir had the incredible opportunity to perform during halftime at the Orange Bowl in Florida. Unfortunately, my family couldn’t afford the trip. The school announced that the student who sold the most chocolates would win the chance to go—and guess who sold the most? That experience ignited my passion for sales.

From a young age, I knew I wanted a career where I controlled my own worth, where my effort directly shaped my success. (Thank you, childhood challenges, for that lesson!) That drive set me on a path of discovery.
My high school guidance counselor pointed me toward an internship at a local bank. I took the opportunity, working there the summer after graduation and steadily advancing for over five years. When I felt I had reached a ceiling, I explored other roles, searching for my next step.
Then, I met a State Farm agent who introduced me to the insurance business. I worked alongside him for six years, gaining invaluable experience and insight. With the encouragement of a mentor—who believed in me both professionally and personally—I took the leap to open my own office. Her words still resonate with me: “You are ready.”
Today, I’m proud of the journey that brought me here, as I reflect back and see God weaving it all together—a journey fueled by determination, self-belief, and the support of those who saw my potential.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has it been a smooth road? Not exactly. Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have incredible people who spoke life into me, encouraged me, and saw potential in me that I couldn’t see myself. Yet, I carried the mindset of that 9-year-old girl who endured challenges no child should ever face. Those early experiences forged a fighter in me. Today, I confront every challenge head-on and refuse to back down.

For many consumers, it’s almost like a foreign language, filled with intricate terms, conditions, and coverage details that can be difficult to navigate without expert guidance.

Technology can make the process more efficient, but it can’t replace the human element. A computer won’t show up at your home when you’re standing under an umbrella in the rain, watching your house burn down. It won’t hug you and pray with you after the tragic loss of a loved one, even as it helps process life insurance proceeds.
