Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Manning.
Hi Trey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as a real estate investor and was curious to understand scope of home inspectors. I found after taking the courses that many inspectors work outside the scope of their license causing many home sales to fail costing buyers and sellers thousands of dollars. So, I became a home inspector and worked slowly at getting new business while still flipping real estate. During Covid, I went out doing inspections when other inspectors would not. My business exploded with business. I stay in scope of state law and I don’t try and kill the deal for buyers or sellers. I explain everything I do and get reports out same day. I treat everyone as I would want to be treated. My moto is do what you say and don’t cheat anyone. Your reputation is worth more than money.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it was very challenging to convince agents to use me that was already using a home inspector.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I inspect a list of items so the buyer can make an educated decision to purchase the home inspected or try and get repair items repaired. Buying a home for most is the most important decision they ever make. I am not only a home inspector ,but a residential builder, specialized ICC inspector and a licensed roofer. What I am most proud about is that many have left me reviews that are outstanding showing me that being honest and upfront with clients helps you be a good inspector. What sets me apart is that I take each inspection like I am inspecting it likes its my own mother’s home and we RESPOND to all texts or calls that sometimes are at 10pm or later.
