Hi Tamara D, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a team of five women who refused to sit back and watch our families, friends, and community struggle with declining health. Each of us brings a unique specialty to the table—nutritional microscopy, detox therapy, fitness training, juicing, and life coaching. Individually we were strong, but together we became a force.
Nine years ago, we decided to combine our gifts, invest our resources, and build what is now Total Package Health & Wellness Spa. What started as a shared mission has grown into a movement. Today, we have two locations in the Memphis area and one in Nashville, with another on the way.
We operate a med spa in the Raleigh/Bartlett community and a private wellness resort in the Westwood/Whitehaven area—both intentionally placed in neighborhoods that raised us. Our growth has been strategic and purpose-driven. We believe in reinvesting in our people, our streets, and our legacy. We call it ‘buying back the block,’ and for us, that means creating access, opportunity, and real wellness where it’s needed most.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Imagine five strong Black women—each passionate, each talented, each a leader in her own right—coming together to build something bigger than themselves. We had to learn how to honor each other’s strengths, communicate with clarity, and keep emotions grounded in professionalism. It took maturity, patience, and a shared vision to turn our individual brilliance into a unified business.
Then the pandemic hit. While the world was shutting down and gyms and wellness facilities were closing their doors, our community still needed us. People depended on our med spa, especially for our signature hydration product—fresh alkaline water that supported their immune health. We made the difficult decision to remain open, and we used our own technology and wellness protocols to keep ourselves healthy so we could continue serving others.
It wasn’t easy, but every challenge strengthened our mission. Those tough seasons shaped who we are today: resilient, united, and committed to showing up for the communities we serve.

What makes me happiest is witnessing transformation—mind, body, and spirit. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing someone walk through our doors tired, overwhelmed, or discouraged, and leave feeling lighter, stronger, and more confident. Knowing that our work helps people reclaim their health, their joy, and their sense of self—that’s the greatest reward.
I’m also deeply happy when I see my team growing, supporting one another, and showing our community what collaboration between women truly looks like. And personally, as a mother, entrepreneur, and health practitioner, I’m happiest when I know I’m using my gifts to serve others while still showing my children what passion, purpose, and perseverance can build.
