Hi Drumma, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in memphis. Basically grew up in the church, playing basketball, my dad was in the orchestra and mom was in the opera and did logistics for different companies so I had to find my own hustle quick. My older brother Ensayne Wayne, RIP, introduced me to making beats. Once i got the swing of things I started producing songs for Yo Gotti, Tela, 8ball & MJG, Gangsta Boo, Playa Fly that helped me make a name for myself in the city as well as outside of memphis. I got calls from Bun B, Scarface, Slim Thug out in Houston to Pastor Troy & Jody Breeze in Atlanta. The rest is pretty much history lol
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Having funds to travel certain places and barely enough to make it to certain cities but once i got in the studio everything changed
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make music that helps people tell their story, whether its bringing out the pain and turning it into paper, or celebrating good times coming from nothing to something. My process is usually researching & listening to the artists music so I’m familiar with their story, delivery, as well as catalog. That way i know exactly what to deliver. What sets me apart from other producers/artists is my knowledge in theory and being able to make music from scratch with no samples or midi loops. It has allowed me to keep an original sound that is known & loved globally.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Discipline i feel like has allowed me to avoid setbacks and be prepared when opportunity presents itself. When everybody was clubbing I was working. When they taking multiple vacations im working.
