Conversations with Keosha Samuel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keosha Samuel.

Hi Keosha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Having a lifetime of experience in entertainment and athletics, I’ve always had the capabilities to manage a life that heavily involved physical fitness and modeling. When I realized my aesthetic was visually pleasing, I wanted to embark on a journey that would allow me the opportunity to introduce my method of coping with insecurity and low self-esteem.

Physical Fitness was the solution that I used to address my concerns with the views of myself I struggled to love. I was able to actively work towards changing features about the physical appearance I wasn’t proud of. Once I mastered the look, I began to undergo some serious transitions from being extremely insecure to confident. Modeling became the product. Being a model put me in the most vulnerable positions to be judged by onlookers that unknowingly look for a fault in who’s coming down the runway. Fortunately for me, I’m experienced at what I do and confidence is vibrant on any runway.

With an aggressive work ethic, I’ve been able to build credibility around my name. My reputation for being one of the best models in Memphis, TN continues to grow, and it’s a humbling experience being viewed with such high regard. I’m appreciative of my process, and I’m forever grateful for everyone that has supported my vision for myself in the past, present, and future supporters as well. As I continue to grow my brand, I want to ensure I never lose sight of why I started.

I hope to continue to be a blueprint to anyone that needs the motivation to take control of their insecurities, embrace them, and if possible; use them to become the best version of themselves they can be.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The greatest challenge for physical fitness in my opinion was impatience. The need to see results quickly damages the necessity of understanding that the process doesn’t happen overnight.

For modeling, it’s a bit different. Challenges range from networking issues, financial constraints investing the necessary skills, finding jobs that actually compensate, etc.

Knowing how to make myself marketable without selling myself short has been an ongoing challenge as well. In either, I have to be sure that others can see the value in what I do so they can appreciate it for themselves.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a model that works in almost all areas of modeling. I provide an extensive list of services but the most common jobs include runway, pictures, and model coaching with lessons of runway etiquette included. I’m most known equally for the amazing pictures I take with my photographer Teddy Wright at Wright Touch Photography and my signature runway walk. I’m most proud of the reputation I have in the modeling community.

I’m widely respected for my skill sets along with my professionalism, value, and expertise. Possessing the necessary skills to be a versatile model has proven to add to the value of my work. What sets me apart from others is I’m a pillar of conservative feminism and modesty with the perfect balance of brazenness and fire; all while maintaining my grace through my artistic talents.

Being in a field where I know I must remain humble and teachable among critics and supporters alike, I fully accept being unapologetic in expressing myself and fulfilling the vision of my clients in my craft.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I have an arsenal of personal development reads, but the one that I refer to most is the book of my religion. It provides me with everything I need to be successful. There’s a reference for every emotion, every situation, and every lesson I need.

I’ve taken the time to build myself into a self-sufficient and remarkable experience person. The word of my religion has afforded me the knowledge I need to not only be my best self, but it aid me in helping others become better versions of themselves as well.
