Hi Lisaura, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Since I was a little girl, I’ve always had a profound love for art. Singing, dancing, and storytelling through videos and experiences around events have been my passions. My journey began in my homeland, the Dominican Republic, where I studied advertising and had the opportunity to work behind the scenes of large-scale events.
In 2013, I embarked on a personal journey as a YouTuber, sharing beauty and lifestyle content, and this became the foundation of my personal brand. The following year, in 2014, I launched my first social media agency, focusing on helping business owners create their brands on social media platforms.
My passion for empowering women led me to organize events aimed at helping them love themselves and create the lives they envisioned. Over more than a decade, I have grown as a lifestyle content creator and a mentor in mindfulness, culminating in the creation of my brand, Aura by Lisaura, two years ago. Aura by Lisaura is a lifestyle brand that aims to boost inner energy with positive, joyful, and inspirational products that help individuals feel confident and embrace their authentic selves.
This journey of entrepreneurship and self-discovery was catalyzed by a challenging period in my life, marked by the loss of my mother, a divorce, and a move to Chicago to expand my business. It has been a long and arduous path of rediscovering myself, but it has also been incredibly rewarding and transformative.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve faced significant challenges, including the loss of my mother, which deeply affected me, led to a period of personal transformation. Moving to Chicago to expand my business introduced new obstacles as I adapted to a different environment. Starting my social media agency was a tough venture, involving typical entrepreneurial struggles like securing clients and building a brand presence. Growing my personal brand and creating Aura by Lisaura demanded overcoming self-doubt and navigating the pressures of a constantly evolving social media landscape. These experiences have taught me resilience and have been pivotal in shaping my journey and success.
