Today we’d like to introduce you to Cloudyluke.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Back in 2016, I started to make video shots and edit them, I was using music from my friends to make lo-fi and vaporwave music videos. Some of the artists liked my work and asked me to do some cover art for them.
I continued to work on art in my free time over the next few years to improve myself while experimenting around with different styles. By that time I got really into underground hiphop like Phonk and Memphis Rap. I really liked the style and sound, it inspired me to keep this style. In 2021, more people asked me about artworks that’s when I got more seriously into making album cover art.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I just did it for myself and to get more into it and some friends who appreciated my art, the only thing that stop me to continue to work and learning new things is myself.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I always thought that music is an important part of my life. It started out as a hobby to help out friends with art and I really enjoy working together with artists that I knew before already. I like vintage, horror, and futuristic styles and combine them.
I am proud to work with artists that I have enjoyed to listen before, to see myself evolving, that my hobby got a little more serious, for example, last year, I made a cover for “Killah Priest’s” ‘Summer End Cafe’ and I mostly enjoy that I can add my contribution to the music.
