Today we’d like to introduce you to Darion Hayes.

Darion Hayes

Hi Darion, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My story starts with my father. He and his friends started a production company together. Once they started that business then that is when my exposure to the media world began.

Throughout my life, I have always been involved with media production. Once I started to get older, I started to realize that media was my passion.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey to now was not smooth. It was so challenging moment but you have to use the moments as a learning curve. The biggest struggle I had on my journey was, understanding that this was the career for me.

What I mean is that at first, I did not know, if I wanted media to be my everyday life. I took a chance to see if I could turn a hobby into a career and I don’t regret my decision at all.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My day-to-day life consists of filming and editing. I travel around the city of Memphis and work with a variety of businesses to bring events and projects to life with visuals.

The one project I am most proud of is my work that was displayed in the National Civil Rights Museum.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The characteristic that is most important to my success is being open-minded and having the will to learn and adapt.
