Daily Inspiration: Meet Destiny Diaz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Diaz.

Hi Destiny, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Destiny and I was born in the Bronx, New York, but moved to Bridgeport CT when I was 6 years old. I was first introduced to music by my Late Grandfather Ernesto Velazquez. Watching my Grandfather be the lead drummer to his own band, inspired me to follow my dreams of becoming a singer. At the age of 18, I was hospitalized and instead of quitting, I wrote my first song ever, however, that still wasn’t enough. Growing up as a female in the music industry is hard. We get sexualized and talked down on, so I decided to create my own record label called TrapLoveENT.

TrapLoveENT now has grown and reached many states throughout the USA. We now have three artists signed to the label along with a choreographer and an upcoming band as well.

TrapLoveENT is a gateway for creatives to be themselves and has the support that is so hard to receive nowadays.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being an upcoming artist and entrepreneur financial issues become a delay in the creative process.

TrapLoveENT has been blessed to have an in-house engineer however getting each song mixed and mastered and, being able to find each artist along with promoting content for each artist takes a toll on the wallet as well as the mental.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in songwriting and singing. I have completed some of the toughest competitions such as showcases around CT and NYC along with two auditions of Americas Got Talent.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
That no matter what happens you are in control of your own life. Covid-19 helped me start up my business and helped me realize that even when times get rough, we are still creatives and it’s in our power to turn our dreams into reality.
