Hi Cassidy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Respected Crown was started in 2019 but stemmed from a side hustle I’ve had since I was 13. I have been growing and caring for natural hair doing braids, twists, and Locs for myself and my friends since middle school; nearly 20 years.
Respected Crown is a luxury hair & beauty line that uses organically sourced herbs and oils specifically targeted to moisturize and grow textured hair! Many nights of studying, reading, learning, testing, sampling, and RESEARCH make up the foundation of this brand.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Having enough hours in the day is a big struggle. I started this business while working full-time in HR so all of my learning, cultivating, and creating happens after hours. Sometimes it’s just not enough energy to stay motivated or be productive.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Crown Serum – a hair growth oil that helps retain moisture was my first product and is my top seller. It fills in bald spots, and edges, and promotes overall hair growth. Since I started, I have added several products to accompany the serum including body butter, body scrub, and hair mist. I have a home salon that I utilize for my clients. Starter locs and loc retwists are the main services I perform. I also make handmade hair accessories and make branded apparel.
Respected Crown has grown to be more than just hair products. On Fridays, I promote other women entrepreneurs on my social sites #femalefridays. Total life empowerment is the goal! Respected Crown has also expanded to provide business consulting services: including resume writing, marketing, branding, graphic design, logo creation, website creation/revamp, and small print needs. I started only doing these services for myself and after my own success has started providing these services for other entrepreneurs.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My creativity and results have been the most important to my success thus far. My products actually work!
