Meet Nicole Moore of Purple Door Planning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Moore.

Hi Nicole, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been someone who finds joy in bringing people together and creating experiences that feel meaningful and personal. My path into wedding and event planning started organically at a church in Germantown, TN. I was to go to Person for friends and family as well as members when they needed help organizing celebrations, and I loved every bit of it. Over time, what began as a passion project turned into a calling. I officially launched Purple Door planning in 2014 with a mission to help couples navigate the planning process with clarity, creativity, and confidence. Purple Door planning became an LLC in March 2020.

Since then, I’ve had the honor of planning weddings and events across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, and what keeps me inspired is knowing that no two celebrations or couples are the same. My business has grown through word-of-mouth, relationship building, and a commitment to being an advocate for my clients from our first conversation through the last dance. Today, I see myself not just as a wedding and event planner but as a partner in helping people tell their story in a way that feels authentic to them.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most small businesses’ journeys, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and I think that’s part of what makes it meaningful. In the beginning, one of my biggest challenges was learning how to balance my creative passion with the business side of things.: contracts, marketing, budgeting, and all the behind-the-scenes work that keeps things running.
There were moments of doubt, especially comparing myself to others in the industry who are trying to prove that I could build a sustainable business doing something I love. And of course, navigating events during the pandemic brought a whole new set of obstacles, helping client shift plans, manage uncertainty, and still find joy in the process in the process.
But through those challenges, I’ve learned to trust my voice, lean into what makes my approach unique, and surround myself with a network of other professionals who support and encourage each other. Every struggle helped me get clear on my mission and more confident in my ability to serve my clients well..

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Purple Door Planning?
Purple Door planning is a boutique wedding and event planning company based in Germantown,TN., serving couples throughout Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. I started the business in 2014 with a focus on personalized, thoughtful planning that put the couple at the center of every decision.
What makes my approach is that I see myself as a bridal and couple advocate First, I’m not just managing logistics and details, I’m helping couples navigate decisions, ventory, relationships, and family dynamics with clarity and com. My whole role is to make sure their voices are heard, their vision comes to life, and they feel supported every step of the way.
I offer a range of planning services, but my sweet spot is partial and full-service planning, working closely with couples from the early stages through the wedding day. I also recently started expanding into more digital tools and resources to help couples to not need full planning but still want professional guidance.
After more than a decade in business, I’m proud of my reputation. I’ve built for being detail-oriented, calm, under pressure, and genuinely invested in my client’s experience, not just the event itself.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe the quality that has contributed most to my success is my ability to listen deeply and advocate for my clients. Wedding planning can fill overwhelming, and couples often feel pulled in different directions by opinions, traditions, and logistics. I make it a priority to really hear what matters most to them, help them block out the noise, and make decisions that reflect their values and style.
That, combined with my com, presence and attention to detail, helps me create an experience where clients feel supported, understood, and confident throughout the process. I always say the logistics are important, but how you make people feel is what they’ll remember and I bring that mindset into every event I plan.
