Hi Marcus, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I move from Memphis to Nashville in August of 2016. And a great friend- name Terrica Lee- invited me to a 3 day event hosted by Grammy award-winning Producer Street symphony. Got an opportunity to meet him and other music executives from, DEF jam, Rock nation, and CMG. And the waves start from there. I am a people person and meeting new people has always work for me here. Then I end up meeting an even cooler Power player in the Financial side of the music industry Alex Heiche CEO and Founder of sound royalties. -if you would like for me to tell a story about how I met him I will do so on the call interview – Now helping artists Singer songwriters and producers has always been a passion. With that being said Alex brought me on personally as a sale royalties referral rep. Next wave was meeting DJ Coop. Owner of slept on music group. Slept on studios. Coop vision. Chicken coop. And slept on Dj‘s correlation. I manage Slept on studios and give music artist development consultations weekly. I have always end up in the right circles even in Memphis with all of the DJs from my hometown and got even a bigger circle with people in the music business here in Nashville. I’m hands-on on anything that I do. Dj, videographer, and now learning how to engineer.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it was not a really smooth road. When I first moved to Nashville, I got hazed by the city. I got scammed, car got broken into and property stolen. That led to identity theft. Got in Business with someone and will not say no names but he is from Memphis. And he was indeed the wrong one because he does not believe in teamwork. And has to be the boss. So no it did not start off smooth.
