Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonya Jackson.
Hi Sonya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am originally from Memphis, TN, and I relocated to Atlanta, GA. From the beginning of my career, I considered making property management my niche. I started my real estate career in Atlanta in 2015. In 2018, I moved back home to Memphis and began doing real estate here shortly after.
Atlanta is a very competitive market, but I think that’s what gives me my edge here in Memphis. I formed my foundation in real estate with Keller Williams, and I found that training in another market made me more prepared for the Memphis market.
It’s important to find the right niche environment that will allow you to grow and thrive. I found that environment in 2021 when I started working for Renshaw Company Realtors. I have a BIG PERSONALITY (lol), so I was able to infuse the company with my enthusiasm for helping all Mid-Southerners find a place to call their home – whether they’re looking to buy, rent, sell or invest. I put my insider knowledge and extensive real estate expertise to work when finding the right properties for my clients.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Of course, I have faced challenges along the way but having the support system I do helps me overcome my obstacles. My mentor, Caleb Parr, is always available and accessible, and the team at Renshaw is incredibly supportive.
I set very high expectations for myself. I’m my biggest critic, so I can stand in my own way sometimes. It has definitely taken a lot to get to the place that I am now. However, I promise I would not change anything about the journey. God has truly laid his hands on me and blessed me in ways I could have never imagined.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed realtor in Tennessee who specializes in residential, multi-family, investors and property management within the Memphis area. I currently serve as a sales and leasing agent for Renshaw Company Realtors.
I am most proud of my ability to connect and grow with the community I grew up in. If you are looking to buy, rent, invest or sell a property, I use my knowledge of the city to help find the perfect place for any qualified client. My personality, enthusiasm and drive sets me apart from all other agents in the game because I go above and beyond the calls of duty.
What makes you happy?
I find joy in my work. I know that’s what everyone says, but I really am passionate about my work. It doesn’t feel like work to me. I realized during the pandemic that helping people was my true passion. All day every day I get the opportunity to connect with people. There’s never a dull moment.
Outside of the office, I love spending time with my family; supporting my friends through their career endeavors; and seeing my clients grow from renters to homeowners to investors.
