Today we’d like to introduce you to Arie Little.
Hi Arie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off modeling acting and singing. I figured singing wasn’t my passion and got an urge to start rapping when I was 10. Ever since then, I have been rapping.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a lot of ups and downs. People making promises that they can’t keep and just saying things to work with me knowing they don’t have the right resources to help take my career to the next level.
But on the bright side, my team and I have done an amazing job at trying to keep me booked and helping me get on bigger stages.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I pride myself on being a youth-friendly artist, especially in these times when there are so many artists not catering to my age group. All of my music is fun and upbeat, and the message is positive. I’m known for being a youth who makes music for youth, a kid who is in her lane. I’m also known for being authentically me and of course, all this big hair I have, I think it just may be my trademark. I’m most proud of my February 2023 Memphis Grizzlies performance.
It’s probably the biggest stage I have been on so far and I was all in my feelings about it. For an NBA team like the Grizzlies to have an artist like me perform for their audience let me know what I’m doing as an artist is just right. I was told early on to create a lane for myself and stay in it while being authentic and it will pay off. This performance showed me just that. Something that sets me apart from other artists is the music. Most rappers today are talking about adult topics and pushing them to the youth. My music is pushing positivity and fun.
Letting the youth know there are other options out there. When I make music, I think would I want my little sister to listen to this, is it ok if she sings along to it? I have a bigger vision for the music I make and I know it can be a game changer.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
YouTube so far is my favorite app. It is my number one go-to when I want to hear and see the latest music out there. There are so many artists getting their big break from apps like YouTube and TikTok.
I love to see other influencers share their creativity and the growth they have made over time. I know I’ve looked back on some of my first videos and thought about how much I’ve developed over the years. It’s also a good tool to learn from mistakes made.
