Check Out Brandon Henderson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Henderson.

Brandon Henderson

Hi Brandon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in (South) Memphis, TN, I learned to overcome the pressures of my environment and the struggles of poverty. I learned to survive with the things I had and realized at an early age nothing is given but everything is earned. I was determined to change and wanted better for myself more than what my parents could provide.

I envisioned myself in a better position in life as an adolescent before the music entered my life. I would daydream about one day leaving my circumstances and taking everyone with me. However, I continued to struggle with how I would make my dream become a reality. My older brother would visit on the weekends and always talk about how he had just got done recording a new song with other artists in the neighborhood. I asked my older brother if he could teach me how to rap.

He helped me to get started by telling me to take a tape pop it into the cassette player, and rap over it while listening to the radio. I quickly found my love and passion for creating music and expressing myself by being inspired by my older brother. In 2010, I found a good couple of friends who are now considered to be brothers to me.

They told me the equipment and software I needed to obtain to begin recording myself. My friends provided feedback on my sound, delivery, and stage presence which caused me to grow at a rapid pace with music.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been a smooth one. However, I am a firm believer that you get out of life what you pour into it. Therefore, some of the struggles I have faced along the way have been understanding more of the music business, creativity struggles, and booking and touring.

Despite all of the previously mentioned struggles, I have managed to educate myself more on each topic and realized each is not a per se struggle but rather a lesson.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I continue to evolve with my music. I am known for delivering real-life situations through my musical content with versatility and style. I am musically described by some of my fans as a well-rounded artist who can adapt and captivate any genre of music I feature.

Also, I am considered by most to be in a category of my own in which people label me as an artist ahead of his time. I have featured on several local musical projects with various artists from Alabama, Texas, and Florida throughout my career. What sets me apart from others is that my listeners gain life experience, advice, enjoyment, encouragement, and inspiration through my music.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
