Today we’d like to introduce you to Brennley and Nathan Scarbrough.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
BN Photo and Video was officially established in 2020 but came into fruition long before that. It starts out as any typical love story. Boy meets girl. Boy asks the girl out. Boy and girl fall in love. So what do they do? Boy and girl open up a business to document other people falling in love!
Haha in all seriousness we have been doing photo and film for far longer than 2020 – we just started out separate. Nathan began videography in 2016. His primary focus was corporate work. His work consisted of films for Prospero Health, VCA Animal Hospital, AirServe, Sketchers, and Petco Love. Brennley began photography in 2016. Her primary focus was family and senior portraiture. In 2018, she did an internship for a traveling wedding photographer and that is when it all began.
She then gained experience in the industry and branched off to do her own thing. That’s where BN comes into play! Brennley booked a wedding in 2020 where the couple wanted videography. She contacted her videographer boyfriend, Nathan, and they made magic happen! Then was established BN Photo and Video.
During consultations, we get strange looks when we say BN was established in 2020, but our passion for the work was created long before then. We absolutely love what we do, and we hope that you can see that through our work. We firmly believe that a photographer and videographer is much more than meets the eye. They are your go-to on the biggest day of your life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is never easy – especially when creating a business during a pandemic. In general, It takes long nights, early morning, weekends, weekdays, and every minute in between. During a pandemic, it takes all of that and then some. On top of building a company, we both have balanced multiple jobs to be able to pursue our dream while also paying the bills.
Aside from being the videographer for BN, Nathan is also a sales associate on the side. Aside from being the photographer for BN, Brennley is a dance instructor and choreographer. In addition to that, we were planning our very own wedding in 2021 – which we all know is another part-time job in itself.
It would not be possible without a strong support system who have encouraged us every step of the way. It is because of the loving foundation of family and friends that we’ve been able to grow much faster than anticipated. In our very first year in business in 2020, we documented 3 weddings. In 2021, we documented 18 weddings. This year, we anticipate documenting over 35 weddings.

We are the owners of BN Photo and Video, LLC based in Memphis, TN. We specialize in photography and videography for weddings, corporate work, and real estate. Our unique approach to offering both photo and video for weddings has been an establishing factor in differentiating our company from others.
This has made the planning process for couples easier as they can book two vendors under one company knowing that they already work well together – which is crucial when photographers and videographers work so closely on wedding days. Our brand is known for building lasting relationships with clients, going the extra mile to ensure all of our couple’s needs are met, and prioritizing attention to detail in every shot.
Our style of work is considered to be bold, clean, and true to life. Ultimately, there is no better feeling than the joyous response we receive from our clients, and that is what we are most proud of. We pride ourselves on providing not only an excellent experience but high-quality work to match.
How do you define success?
For some, the instant response to success is monetary gain, fame, or having the biggest house on the block.
For us, it is as simple as getting to do what we love every single day and having the opportunity to put our heart and soul into each piece of work. We are both extremely grateful to say that we genuinely love what we do.
