Check Out Brittney Stone’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Stone.

Hi Brittney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Brittney Stone and I am the owner of HuneyB’s Creations. I have always been known to my friend group as the “Jackie of All Trades”, This name came about because whatever I put my mind to create, I can create it with ease and most times master the craft.

When it is something I can’t seem to grasp, I go to Youtube and try until I figure it out. I would try things like making jewelry, trying different recipes, creating mixed drinks, designing t-shirts, doing hair, etc. I figured since I was creating what I consider to be Brittney-Pieces (masterpieces), I could start to promote and make extra money from it. I started HuneyB’s back in November of 2018 and my clientele has grown greatly in that time by word of mouth and via social media.

I graduated from Tennessee State University with my B.S. in Communications. I became a licensed minister the same month I started my business back in 2018. I also graduated from Liberty University with my M.A. in Counseling, Life Coaching, and Community Care in 2019.

I always knew I was a creator by using my hands but I knew that I was to create literature as well. I was the type of person that would do so much for others but I would neglect myself sometimes. I wanted my brand to not only be about creating random things but also creating content that was centered around self-care and affirmative messages to uplift self. I started to create prayer shirts and post prayers and positive sayings on my social media.

Then one day, I decided that I was going to write books that reminded others to pray for themselves and speak well of themselves daily without feeling bad about it. This year on my 30th birthday I released two books entitled “Today I Prayed for Me” and “Today, I Affirm Myself“. I have received so many positive reviews from my books that it is overwhelming!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have definitely been obstacles along the way. In the past 3 years, I have lost my mother and my uncle who both died unexpectedly. Their deaths were major losses to my family and it is still unbelievable that they are not here. Grieving is one of those things where in an instance you can go from being happy to extremely sad. Those moments are very challenging and can cause you to feel numb. I am learning to feel in the moment and keep going. I know my mom and uncle would want me to keep pushing towards my dreams and continue to make them proud.

Other obstacles include finding a balance being a full-time mommy of a beautiful 2-year-old baby boy named Judah, working a full-time job, finding time to create content, finding time for family and friends, as well as accepting ministry engagements. Sometimes the money is not always consistent either but sometimes, honestly, I get tired. What I have learned is to find balance.

I keep a do-to-list and make sure I TRY to keep a tight schedule to follow through with my tasks and goals for the day, week, and month. There have been plenty of sleepless nights and making sacrifices but they have been worth it! My main objective is to expand my brand and make a difference in the lives of those I encounter.

What keeps me motivated through all the challenges is the dream I have of creating a great life for my son and leaving a legacy for the future generations that follow me. I want my son and my grandmothers who encourage me daily to know that their hard work with me was not in vain.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently, I just accepted this position to be a blogger for Inc Writes. I love to write. It helps me to release my emotions in a positive way as well as share my testimony in the hope that it helps others to overcome and know they are not alone. I am known best for my authenticity and transparency, I am 100 % myself at all times and I pride myself on that.

To know me is to love me! I am most proud of my ability to get up and keep going as though I haven’t been knocked down a few times. It amazes me that I have pushed myself so much to achieve goals in the midst of losing my mother and having other life tragedies occur. What sets me apart from others is my mindset. I look for the lessons and positives in situations instead of wallowing in defeat.

My heart also sets me apart. There have been plenty of times when I have created content for a person for free just to see the smiles. Sometimes it is not always about the money but about the impact, you make on a person.

What makes you happy?
What makes me extremely happy is being able to spend quality time with my son. We both love adventure and I make it my mission to find something new and fun to do in Memphis on the weekends. That includes trying different restaurants, going to different parks, going to museums, attending different events in the city, and last but not least SPONTANEOUS WEEKEND GETAWAYS!

We both love the beach. I love family time and being around my son and other family members and friends put the biggest smile on my face.
