Today we’d like to introduce you to Cornesha Carradine.
Hi Cornesha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started doing my own makeup when I was 16 and during my senior year of high school I got my first job working at a makeup shop providing makeup, wig, and lash services to locals. Eventually I branched off on my own. It was a struggle at first, but from the support of my peers I kept going. I started to reach out to local influencers for promotions, and eventually I was booked and busy. As of today I’m marking 10 years of makeup artistry and 5 years as a full time makeup artist.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It wasn’t a smooth road. I was on and off providing makeup services. Working jobs on and off not realizing makeup was really my passion. Struggling to figure where I can even provide services due to being scared I couldn’t afford a suite. So I moved around a lot until I prayed and depended on God to get me to where I needed to be. In 2023 I became a licensed esthetician and I’ve found my home at The Runway Salon.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a makeup artist that specializes in natural, soft, full, and editorial glams. I’m feel I’m best known for my editorial work. I am most proud that people recognize how creative I am. What set me apart from others is that I push against the norm. I’m not cliche with my creativity.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My customer service is most definitely why I’m successful in my business. Also listening to clients compliments and make sure I stay on top of things.
