Today we’d like to introduce you to KeepingIt Tron
Hi KeepingIt, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story in entertainment goes all the way back to when I was 8 years old. I would sneak and take my mom’s tape recorder and make my sisters pretend like we were Destiny’s Child. I would make them learn the songs and practice dance routines over and over as if we were on stage. DC is one of my favorite girl groups and they really made me want to become an entertainer. When I was in middle school, my first big audition was for High School Musical and that brought out my passion for acting. I auditioned in front of three people and got the part! Over the years I did some modeling and other film and TV projects which led me to social media and my start with creating skits in 2014. A lot of them were based on my mom, sisters and other amazing women I admired, and I had no idea things would take off the way they did. I wasn’t sure if anyone would even respond well to the characters I was creating but it’s amazing to see how people, men and women, laugh and engage with my content. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I decided to invest in my own equipment and home studio and fast forward to 2025, my skits, parodies and content have generated millions of views!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to where I am now has not been smooth by a long shot! It took a lot of bumps,
potholes and a few wrecks to make it where I am now. Sometimes in life when you deal
with a lot of personal things it can really impact the way you see yourself and affect your
mindset. I started second guessing myself, I wasn’t sure if music or acting was
something I wanted to continue to do, I was depressed, just so many things. I was on
the verge of giving up. One of the biggest challenges I had to overcome was when I
went to prison in 2016 for something from when I was much younger. I was gone from
everything I loved for almost two years. After being released, I didn’t even know if
entertainment was something I wanted to try again. After seeing how people
encouraged me and wanted more, their support made me realize I have talent that can’t
go to waste. My journey is to show anyone in life that no matter what you go through, if
it’s something that you’re passionate about, GO FOR IT.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an entertainer that’s gifted across the board. I’ve worked in music, modeling, acting,
producing, editing, you name it. I’m currently more known for my viral comedy content on
TikTok and Instagram. I love making people laugh and I’ve learned it’s my personality
that does it. The thing I’m most proud of is my resilience. I’ve been through a lot in my
life, but I keep going. Seeing how people respond and connect with my content from
regular everyday people to celebrities like Tia Mowry, Lee Daniels, Sidney Starr,
Comedienne Ms. Pat, Joe Torry, Bobby Ashley, Sheryl Underwood, Tami Roman, my girl
TS Madison and others, it keeps me motivated and inspired to keep creating content.
The thing that sets me apart is not caring what others have to say about what I do. I
have a live-out-loud-and-proud type of attitude. You either love it or hate it. I’m okay either way.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Memphis has always had a sweet spot in my heart. I’m from Tupelo, MS and we would
take trips up to Memphis to shop, hang out or go to the famous Libertyland. Memphis
has so much culture and history it can offer. The good Southern BBQ, I live for! You
hear so many things about this place, good and bad, but I only see the good. I also love
the fact that home isn’t too far and that I can drive there whenever I want. I’ve always
been a city person at heart, so being here feels like home. I love walking across the
Memphis bridge just to enjoy the water and look over the city. Even though it’s not
Atlanta or Los Angeles, I would say the only thing I dislike about being here is the traffic! All in all, I have big love for Memphis.
