Hi Kimmie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My career in skincare started in 1996 behind a beauty counter, long before I ever imagined owning a studio or creating a skincare line. I built a career in aviation, working as a flight attendant for both SkyWest and Delta Air Lines, but skincare never stopped pulling me back. At 30, I went to esthetics school and began building the career I truly wanted.
I opened seven twentyseven skincare in Collierville with a focus on education, skin physiology, and treatments that make sense for the individual sitting in front of me. Over time, that philosophy grew beyond the treatment room and led me to create KDNA Skincare, my own line built around intelligent skin support, barrier health, and simple, effective home care.
Today, I’m still a practicing esthetician first. I treat clients, continue my education, teach the science behind skincare, and keep building a business centered on one core idea: people deserve to understand their skin, not just be sold products for it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I have built my career through career changes, financial risk, failed ideas, staffing changes, rebranding, and the constant reality that owning a small business means learning while you are already in motion. I have had to make hard decisions, admit when something was not working, and rebuild more than once.
The biggest lesson has been that growth is not always glamorous. Sometimes it looks like simplifying, starting over, continuing your education, or choosing the slower path because it is the more sustainable one. Those setbacks have shaped how I run seven twentyseven skincare and how I built KDNA. I am far more interested in creating something solid, ethical, and lasting than something that simply looks successful from the outside.

As a licensed esthetician and the owner of seven twentyseven skincare in Collierville, I specialize in results-driven, education-centered skincare with a strong focus on skin physiology, barrier health, mature skin, sensitivity, and long-term function.
What I am probably best known for is explaining the “why.” I want clients to understand what is happening in their skin, why I am recommending a treatment or product, and what realistic progress actually looks like. That same philosophy led me to create KDNA Skincare, a streamlined skincare line designed around intelligent skin support, consistency, and effective home care without unnecessary complication.
I am most proud that my work has grown without losing its integrity. What sets me apart is not a single treatment or product. It is the way I combine continued education, hands-on experience, realistic expectations, and individualized care to help people make better decisions about their skin.
What are your plans for the future?
My future plans are centered on expanding education, growing KDNA Skincare thoughtfully, and continuing to strengthen seven twentyseven skincare as a place where clients receive both excellent care and a better understanding of their skin.
I am also interested in doing more professional education, writing, speaking, and advocacy within the esthetics industry, particularly around stronger education standards, collaboration, and realistic business practices. I do not necessarily see growth as becoming bigger. I see it as becoming more useful, more informed, and more impactful.
