Check Out Randall K’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randall K.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
47StillStanding is an independent hip-hop/indie duo based in Memphis, Tennessee, comprising @risklife47 and @grimobsession47

Since their formation in 2019, they’ve cultivated a devoted following through their emotionally charged music that blends elements of ’90s punk rock, emo-rap, and hip-hop. Their sound is characterized by ambient yet gritty textures, offering listeners a form of escapism while delving into deeply personal and introspective lyricism.

An independent act born from a bedroom in Memphis, 47StillStanding has carved out their own lane with over 50 songs released and more than 11 million streams across all platforms. Built on raw emotion, relentless DIY spirit, and a commitment to storytelling, their music captures the highs, lows, and everything in between. From the quiet of late-night recording sessions to resonating with fans around the world, 47StillStanding proves you don’t need a label to leave a lasting impact — just heart, vision, and a willingness to stay standing.

Their breakout tracks “Wondering Why” and “Participate” showcase their ability to craft poignant narratives that resonate with fans navigating themes of mental health, identity, and resilience. The duo’s commitment to authenticity and raw expression has led to collaborations with artists like Rashad Reloaded, gonedark, NOBDY, The 33rd, Nihkzy, Mosarie, NVCK, Smoke Daily, and Daniel Stafford, only further expanding their musical repertoire.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
47StillStanding doesn’t chase perfection — we chase honesty.
Built from sleepless nights, broken expectations, and stubborn hope, our music bleeds the kind of truth most people keep buried. Every lyric is a window into the fight to stay alive, stay real, and stay moving forward when everything else says stop.

From quiet moments of self-doubt to anthems of survival, 47StillStanding gives voice to the emotions too often left unspoken. The sound isn’t about escaping the struggle — it’s about standing in it, owning it, and turning it into something unforgettable.

No filters. No façades.
Just two artists — still standing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Honestly, my work life and my music career have always fueled each other.

Working in project management and sales taught me how to stay organized, communicate clearly, and deliver results — all skills that directly help me in music when I’m producing, engineering, or managing collaborations. At the same time, building my music brand pushed me creatively and made me even better at problem-solving and staying focused under pressure.

Both sides are about taking ownership, working hard, being creative, and making sure the end result is something people trust and respect. That’s what I’m passionate about — whether it’s a jobsite or a track in the studio.

While I brought technical skills from project management, sales, and audio engineering, @grimobsession47 brought a strong creative foundation through his work in schooling, painting, and music. His artistic background adds a visual and emotional depth to our projects, while I handle a lot of the technical production and execution. Together, we balance creativity and structure to build music that’s real and lasting. – @risklife47 / @ayyorisk of 47StillStanding

How do you define success?
For me, success is about building a life rooted in family, faith, honesty, and purpose. It’s not just about personal achievements or numbers — although I’m proud of the streams/sales we’ve made, the projects I’ve led, and the music I’ve produced. True success is measured by the integrity behind the work, the relationships I build along the way, and the positive impact I leave on the people around me.

I believe success means honoring God through my actions, staying transparent and honest in everything I do, and creating opportunities not just for myself, but for the people I care about. Whether it’s leading a project, closing a deal, producing a song, or supporting my family and team, I define success by the trust I earn, the respect I maintain, and the legacy I’m building — day by day, choice by choice.

In everything I do, my goal is to stay true to my values, to lead with heart and hard work, and to build something that lasts longer than just today. – @risklife47 / @ayyorisk

“True success is faith forged in fire — standing loyal when it costs you, creating when the world doubts you, and leaving behind more than just a name.” – @grimobsession47
