Check Out Seize And Desist’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seize And Desist.

Hi, Seize And Desist; please start by introducing yourself. We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Ra’id: Well, after about 4 years in Negro Terror and Omar’s unfortunate passing, we (me and Rico) decided to continue our aspirations for a black punk band. After the turmoil and creating a list of new names, we decided on Seize and Desist.

Rico: Yeah, after not being allowed to perform as Negro Terror, I called up my best friend Ping and told him I needed a bassist for this new incarnation of our old band. And poof, Seize and Desist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Rico: Well, anybody that was a fan of our old band, Negro Terror, knows the unfortunate legal happenings that made it so that Ra’id and I could no longer perform under that name. There’s nothing harder than re-brand under a new name, but luckily we have some of the best and most loyal fans in the world, so it has gotten much more manageable with time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
Ra’id: I am a songwriter, composer, and producer. I am 1/2 of the production team known as the Audionautz. I also play drums for rapper/artist Roben X., And I am a member of the Memphis Music Banq. I am most proud of what I’ve done in my past bands, Seize and Desist, and the fandom that comes with it.

Rico: I am a solo artist and guitarist for Roben X. I released a 3 track hip-hop/r&b EP over the quarantine with local producer/drummer/singer Ryan Peel. I am most proud of being a part of the documentary I was in (“Negro Terror” directed by John Rash) and being a part of something bigger than me.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Ra’id: Aside from the obvious, keep watching; more shows and music are coming.
Rico: Believe that.
