Check Out Wayne Hill’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wayne Hill.

Wayne Hill

Hi Wayne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My wife Geri and I started Crossroads Church 7 years ago. There are a lot of great churches in our area but we felt God leading us to start a church for people who have been out of church for a while or have been hurt by church. When you have been in either of those situations returning to church can be difficult.

God has blessed us and we are seeing people return to church and give the church a try. We can’t promise you won’t get hurt again at some point because we are human and far from perfect but we do hope people will find a welcoming place that truly loves people. We exist as a church to live by faith, be known by love, and reach those far from God. We started with 20 people in a driveway to 200 plus worshipping with us weekly!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has not always been easy. I say, “It is the most difficult thing I have ever done and the best thing I have ever done”. The biggest challenge we face is the issue of having enough space.

We are currently in a rented facility and we are always looking to create more space. We are looking for where God wants us to be located next with more space but we do not want to run ahead of His plan.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Pastor and have been in ministry for the majority of my adult life.

I do not have all the answers to life’s questions but I love people and try to always remain humble. One of the things that I strive to do is be the same person you run into at Kroger as you see preaching on Sunday mornings.

Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Be open to putting yourself out there and asking people to meet with you. Then ask them questions and listen. I have found that most leaders are willing to meet and talk, give advice, or listen. If they are simply asked.
