Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Scates.
Hi Brittney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When it’s your passion it’s not a job. My name is Brittney Scates and I’m a business graduate from The LeMoyne Owen College. I attended cosmetology courses in high school where I discovered making women feel good about their appearance was my favorite passion. In 2015, I attended Tennessee of Applied Technology.
There I received my master barber license and would go on to work from a salon in my home. I started experimenting with organic skin and hair products in my kitchen after work hours not knowing I would discover a new passion. I started experimenting with organic skin and hair products in my kitchen after work hours not knowing I would discover a new passion.
I started researching about skincare and since I was already experienced with hair, it went hand and hand. I open my first salon in February of 2020. They say the light at the end of the tunnel is for you and no one else; I have just begun. I am for skin and hair like yours.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a new salon owner wasn’t smooth in the beginning because I open shortly before COVID, so I was forced to close my salon after opening it a month prior.
We’ve been impressed with BScates Versatile Styles LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a versatile master stylist/natural hair care specialist. I specialize in getting rid of/minimizing psoriasis, dandruff, and eczema from the scalp/skin using organic vegan food-grade products that I make myself.
I’m very proud that my brand doesn’t include adjectives and I make them by request with the freshest ingredients. They’re welcome to purchase/book my services at https://www.bscatesstyles.com/.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I have expanded my business in Dallas and plan to make a big deal about who BScates represents and stands for. Great things/people like myself come from Memphis, TN.
