Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Regenold.
Hi Kristen, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been in the agency world since 2008 – big traditional firms, scrappy digital startups, small boutique shops. I’ve seen how strategy works at scale and how fast great ideas can move when the team is right.
But honestly, this started long before that.
When I was 15, I was in an interview for a scholarship and told them, very confidently, that I was going to work at an ad agency one day. I didn’t fully know what that meant yet. I just knew I loved ideas and the way they could move people.
I didn’t grow up dreaming of owning an agency. I did grow up loving leadership. Building teams. Creating clarity. And after years in different environments, I realized something: if you can’t find the exact seat you’re looking for, sometimes you build the table.
So I did.
As for the name – that’s the fun part. In a previous job there were two Kristens, and someone insisted I needed a nickname. I mentioned that everyone calls my husband Reggie. And so, it stuck. When it came time to name the business, I wanted something simple and memorable. The team already called me Reggie. And I loved that someone could say, “Just call Reggie,” and mean both me and the agency.
Reggie & Co. is really the evolution of a 15 year old’s very specific career plan, a lot of agency experience and the decision to build something that feels sharp, strategic and a little more human.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been smooth. And I think that’s the part people don’t always see.
There were seasons in my career where I was doing good work, but I didn’t feel fully aligned. I would look around and think, “Is this it?” Not in an ungrateful way. More in a restless way. I knew I had more in me than the box I was in.
There were also moments of real doubt. Leaving stability to build something of your own is uncomfortable. You trade certainty for possibility. You carry the weight of revenue, payroll, reputation. And when you’re the founder, there’s no one to escalate things to. It’s just you.
I’ve also had to learn hard lessons about boundaries, about energy, about how much of myself I can give before I start running on empty. Building something meaningful requires resilience, but it also requires self-awareness.
The struggles weren’t dramatic. They were quiet. Internal. Wrestling with whether I was ready. Whether I was capable. Whether I was crazy to try.
What I’ve learned is that growth rarely feels smooth while you’re in it. It feels stretching. It feels exposing. But every uncomfortable season clarified what kind of agency I wanted to build and what kind of leader I wanted to be.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But it has been shaping.
As you know, we’re big fans of Reggie & Co.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Reggie & Co. is a boutique marketing, communications and advertising agency built around one core belief: strategy should be sharp, and execution should be just as strong.
We partner with ambitious brands and organizations that are ready to grow, refine or reposition. That includes brand strategy, campaign development, digital communications, fundraising marketing, executive messaging and event-driven storytelling.
We are not a volume shop. We are not a churn-and-burn content factory. We are a thinking partner first.
What sets us apart is the blend. I’ve worked inside large agencies with complex structures and small shops that move fast and lean. Reggie & Co. pulls the best from both. Every engagement gets senior-level strategic thinking, but without layers of hierarchy. Clients get direct access, clear direction and work that is both polished and purposeful.
We’re known for three things: clarity, momentum and taste.
Clarity in strategy.
Momentum in execution.
Taste in how it shows up in the world.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we feel cohesive. The positioning, the voice, the visual language – it all aligns with what we actually deliver. Strategic thinking. Stylish execution. Minimal fluff. Maximum impact.
What I want readers to know is this: we don’t just make things look good. We make them make sense. And when those two things align, brands grow.
If someone says, “Just call Reggie,” I want that to mean: you’ll get honesty, intelligence and work that moves the needle.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’ll leave you with this: building a business has a way of clarifying what you actually believe about the work.
I didn’t start Reggie & Co. because I thought the world needed another agency. I started it because I believed there was room for one that felt sharper, more intentional and more personal.
I believe clarity is a competitive advantage. I believe taste matters. I believe leadership shows up in the details.
If someone says, “Just call Reggie,” I hope what they mean is: call someone who will think deeply, execute beautifully and tell you the truth.
