Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Taylor.
Hi Madison, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I started my photography business, I truly felt this was what I was supposed to do. In the previous years, I had taken a few photos here and there, but I thought I wasn’t equipped to run my own photography business.
Years passed and I had a baby. I began to wonder about my self-worth. When I decided to start my business, I told myself you are more than enough. You are more than just a mom. I named my business “You Are Light Photography” because I want to be a light people look to in the hard times.
I want people to look at their pictures and love themselves and the moments that have been captured. I have only grown since launching my business and it’s because of the support system I have around me. Friends and family are the ones who are with you through the good, bad, ugly, and what a blessing that is.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a smooth ride so far. I have had the blessing of having a mentor, Jordan Nix. She has helped me through any questions I have had, which was a lot of them. I’ve had great support too. While I go on shoots, my husband, family, and friends will take care of my son.
As you know, we’re big fans of You Are Light Photography. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a photographer from Memphis, TN but also love traveling and willing to go anywhere. I am a jack of all trades. I photograph newborns, weddings, families, engagements, couples, seniors, real estate, and portraits.
I think my absolute favorites are weddings and newborn/maternity. I love the joy of two becoming one on a wedding day and the innocence of a newborn baby. I think what sets me apart from other photographers is my newness and willingness to learn and take on an adventure. I love my clients and wouldn’t have a business without them.
I’m most proud of what my business stands for, making God the light in everything I do.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I hope my business is flourishing with clients from all over the state. I hope to be doing weddings every weekend. I would love to be traveling, maybe do destination weddings. I want to meet more people and hopefully make friends for a lifetime along with this job.
