Today we’d like to introduce you to Peyton Scott.
Hi Peyton, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my photography journey with my high school art class. I started by taking self-portraits and entering them into art competitions for fun. I won gold in a scholastic art competition and my first self-portrait was placed in the Brooks Museum for a month. This is when I knew I had an eye for photography and that others recognized my talent as well.
After the competition, I decided I wanted to make photography my passion and pursue it as my career. I have since started my business Shotsbypey found on Instagram and Facebook. I have enjoyed every step and photoshoot since I started my own business. I am just now getting started but I know my future holds amazing opportunities.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, not every step has been smooth. I have had my doubts and wonders about my business.
Questioning if I will fail or succeed. However, I have never been the type to fail at anything. Once I have the passion, talent, and determination for something I know I can accomplish it. When I first started my business, I barely had clientele which was discouraging.
However, I remained patient that God had a plan for me. My clientele has grown since and people trust that I will capture their moments beautifully. I trusted in God and trusted in myself. That’s all the reassurance I need when I feel I am not doing my best.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Shotsbypey is a business made specifically for anyone who wants real moments captured. I have captured birthdays parties headshots, etc. My business is not set on one specific type of photography. For instance, I do more than just family photoshoots but I do creative photoshoots as well.
If you want a photoshoot with you holding fire in your hand or you want to sit on top of a cake… Shotsbypey makes it happen!! What sets me apart from others is that I have a creative mind and can make your imagination come to life. If you book with me I promise you will have a great experience and have beautiful pictures for the moments you want to hold onto forever. I make sure my clients are satisfied with every detail of their pictures.

What were you like growing up?
As a child, I was always outgoing and known for my big personality. I was the kid to join every club or team. I hung out with the “popular kids” most of my life. However, I didn’t set the stereotypical expectation of being a mean pretty popular kid. I was nice and everyone seemed to like that about me.
I made more and more friends as I went to school either through dancing on the majorette teams or through art class. Dance and drawing were my favorite things to do for a long time. However, once in high school, I decided photography was what I wanted to do with my life and it’s one of my best decisions.

- Location shoots -$85 (a location is picked to take pictures)
- Studio Shoots- $115 ( if props are included prices vary)
- 30 pictures edited come with the shoot. Extra pictures come with a $10 fee.
